    Hi Fabrizio,

Any update on this? Since my post, about 2 weeks ago, I haven’t received any feedback from you. I would appreciate some response, either way. Thanks

    Hi Fabrizio,

I’ve bene using your plugin for a while now, with great pleasure. It always worked fine, until recently it stopped working. My first impression was that it stopped working after the WP upgrade to 4.0. However, reading some forums on the internet, it might also be caused by recent Linked-In restrictions.

    Here’s my experience:

I used the following short codes on my WP based website:

    1. [fb_linkedin_resume_header]
    2. [fb_linkedin_resume_summary]
    3. [fb_linkedin_resume_skills]
    4. [fb_linkedin_resume_projects]

Below is the technical content of my page on my website:

    [fb_linkedin_resume_header]
    <strong>Summary</strong>
    [fb_linkedin_resume_summary]
    <strong>Skills</strong>
    [fb_linkedin_resume_skills]
    <strong>Projects</strong>
    [fb_linkedin_resume_projects]

<span style="color: #000000;"><strong>Want to know more about my experience, education and advice? Please check LinkedIn.Com to view my <span style="text-decoration: underline;">complete</span> profile:</strong></span>
    <script src="//platform.linkedin.com/in.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="IN/MemberProfile" data-id="https://www.linkedin.com/in/ariefolkers" data-format="inline" data-related="false"></script>

However, I noticed that the first short code ([fb_linkedin_resume_header]) is causing, what I call, a fatal error. If this short code is used, nothing is displayed at all and the page will not load completely. Remaining items (like the official Linked-In badge at the bottom) on the page are not shown at all!

The third short code ([fb_linkedin_resume_skills]) is working fine and shows the skills as maintained in my Linked-In profile, as long as the first ([fb_linkedin_resume_header]) is not used at all.

Any other short code is not working properly and doesn’t show anything,

      but

the page itself with the remaining items are loaded correctly. So in my case the Linked-In badge at the bottom is displayed correctly.

I hope you can have a look at this behavior and let me know how to correct if possible.

Thanks in advance for your prompt response.

BTW, you’re using a very old version of PHPExcel. Perhaps you can update that and release a new RSVPMaker_Excel plugin?

    Hi David,

I found the issue. It had nothing to do with the WP upgrade to 4.0. In one of the custom fields a registrant had used the equal sign (=). This caused the Excel download to fail. So perhaps you can have a look at that and add some logic that special characters like this are either accepted and the RSVPMaker_Excel can deal with that, or that these special characters (used in Excel as formula’s, ect.) are not accepted to prevent the issue of not being able to download.

    Thanks,

    Arie

To add to this, the event date is shown as “Saturday, 11 October, 2014” instead of “Zaterdag, 11 Oktober, 2014“. Please notice that the date format itself is correctly used from the settings in RSVPMaker, where I defined the long date format as “l, d F, Y

    Hi Kevin,

I’m indeed Dutch; you guessed right! After I posted this post I did change the setting shortly to support private documents. However, I changed it back almost immediately as I realized that this could/would not be very supportive for anyone trying to help me ??

So, please could you check again? It’s definitely now back to normal/default and NOT supporting private documents only. I made an export of my profiles/settings, so you can see my settings below:

By the way, the document linked on the page is in fact the external document mentioned “example.pdf”. So my page should be showing you exactly the same document as when you would follow the original link. At least for the download feature, that should not make any difference. But more important, Google is able to find that document as it’s not stored on my website, but at https://www.selab.isti.cnr.it if you know what I mean…

Please note that I do appreciate your help very much and would like to thanks you in advance for the support and effort.

Please let me know what I’m doing wrong or if you need more information.
    Thanks,

    Arie

    Dear support team,

I’m also having the same issues. When I’m trying to include a standard PDF file into my WP page, I constantly receive the error:
“Sorry, we were unable to find the document at the original source. Verify that the document still exists. You can also try to download the original document by clicking here.”.

As I thought it might be caused by my PDF or the location of my PDF as suggested by the message, I started to try other public PDF files from the Internet. I searched using Google for “example PDF” and found this one: https://www.selab.isti.cnr.it/ws-mate/example.pdf

When using this public PDF, I get the same error; the issue is still there. By the way, the viewer is able to locate the file, as you can download the file successfully via the viewer by clicking in the viewer on “here”.

You can access my page via: https://idcis.nl/algemene-voorwaarden/

By the way, my website is absolutely public, not behind any firewalls and reachable by Google.

Can somebody tell me what is wrong? What am I doing wrong? Is there an issue with GDE? Any help or suggestion is welcome.

PS: if you need more information, please let me know.

    Many thanks in advance.
