I will. Thanks!
Hi. Thank you for the info, I appreciate it.
Any estimate on when the fix could be available?
Or, is there a way to go around the bug while waiting for it?Hi, Justin. Thank you very much for your efforts.
I changed the code line as instructed, but when I activated Members, the other admin did not see forum menus. When I deactivated Members, menus are visible. So, it looks like it did not solve the problem. There must be something else…?
It feels a bit funny to act as a discussion proxy in the middle, but here’s what Simple:Press devs had to say (in their forum, link provided above):
“Justin is an old and respected hand at all of this so he should know what he is doing. So here is the reply you need to give to him…
Simple:Press does NOT get involved in WP Roles in any way. We do not create them, remove them etc. What we DO is define a set of capabilities for the Forum Admins. Note that Forum Admins do NOT need to be WP Administrators.
When a user is defined as a new Forum Admin the forum specific capabilities defined for that user are added to the standard capabilities defined in their usermeta record. We have never before heard – in over 12 years – of these user caps being lost, ignored or bypassed before.
As far as we are concerned, these caps are added in line with the WP API and within the scope and intention of user caps.”
Hoping this helps to clarify the situation…
Thank you for a quick reply. I do appreciate your support in this matter.
I’ve imformed Simple:Press developers that you responded – and truly hope you could sort this out together. I’m not a programmer, so these details do not tell me much.
Kind regards,
Ari
There’s also an ongoing discussion topic on their forum on this matter:

Thank you very much!
Just checking: I need to repeat this procedure every time The Events Calendar plugin gets an update?

In reply to: [Sociable] How to get Sociable work with Simple:Press@sociable: Got some replies from Simple:Press folks, discussion here: https://simple-press.com/support-forum/skins-and-theme-problems/sociable-plugin-integration/
They ended up suggesting the following: Would it be possible for Sociable to use Canonical URL for each page load instead of the permalink?
I’d appreciate if The Sociable Team would find time to comment this. Thanks.

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Mail SMTP] SMTP test e-mail not working with GmailHi, Callum. Great plugin!
However, when sending the test mail, the received email has From email address as the gmail one used when authenticating, not the one I defined in the settings. The From name stays as defined in settings.
Bug or feature?

In reply to: Problems using PolldaddyLooks like Automattic is not too interested in neither answering to the thread nor correcting the situation. Sad.
I started using SurveyGizmo instead. At least their plugin works and their offering looks & feels pretty much the same – for surveys anyway.

In reply to: Problems using PolldaddySame problem, with 2.6.5.
Nothing happens when I type in my polldaddy.com email and password on PollDaddy Account page, as requested after plugin (ver 0.8) activation. Not error message, nothing. Could someone help?!
Does it matter that I’m signed in as an admin?
@webartistry; It was told in another thread (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/210731?replies=5) that the additional plugin is no longer needed. What might be the truth?
