In reply to: [Better Find and Replace] Not Usable As-IsI recently rebranded my website and wanted a simple way to replace all instances of my old blog name with my new one. Based on your WP.org description it seemed your plugin might have been able to do what I asked.
While it did a “dry run” and printed a report of all instances of my old blog name, only the “Pro” version could commit any actual changes. Knowing this plugin was completely non-functional without first paying would have been useful before wasting my time installing it.

In reply to: [Max Mega Menu] Z-Index Issue? Megamenu Appears Below Homepage SliderThanks for the assist. I didn’t think that z-index was affected that much by their parent containers. With your additional direction I was able to get my entire header all Z-Indexed properly.
My top Max Mega Menu secondary menu now displays over my main menu, and my AJAX search box is no longer obscured by my Max Mega Menu main menu. Everything is in their proper order now.

In reply to: Dropping Tables During 5.2.2 UpgradeAfter additional testing the problem with dropping my tables seems to be associated with the Database Upgrade process.
If I hit [continue] on the “Database Update Required” prompt.
It leads to the following page full of dropped table errors and a site that was previously working before, completely breaks.
Eventually I was able to get this sample site to Update without dropping tables by continually restoring from backups and trying re-trying the Database Update process until it went through without error.
Not sure what caused it to fail so much, but this was the culprit.

In reply to: Dropping Tables During 5.2.2 Upgrade@pbiron Upgrades is from 5.1.1.
@howdy_mcgee Probably the most repeatable table being dropped are the WooCommerce ones.
If not just the tables being dropped, content that uses the standard wp_posts table lose their post_type. Every page, revision, attachment, & custom content type gets converted to a standard blog. It’s really odd.
Someone suspected it might be related to poorly coded themes and plugins, but I got the issue to repeat on even a smaller site I host including one that only had 5 plugins not made by Automattic: UpdraftPlus, Shortcodes Ultimate, Divi Booster, Comet Cache Pro, Classic Editor with the rest being WooCommerce and WooCommerce Automattic plugins.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Restore Error "Download Failed"I know how to access the backups. My issue is actually using them.
Whenever I hit the [restore] button to try to rollback to an earlier backup I get the following:
PHP event: code E_WARNING: Wrong parameter count for clearstatcache() (line 747, wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/addons/sftp.php) Download in progress (XX / YY Kb)
I am not trying to download it myself, I am trying to use the restore function but it seems the script is having trouble restoring/accessing the backups that are on the server and I don’t know why.
I reset all my advanced settings and was able to get rid of the previous error code.
Now it gives me the following error:
Restore backup from: 2014-01-07 7:58 Retrieving (if necessary) and preparing backup files... Download db (2014-01-07 7:58): Error: Download failed FTP login failure

In reply to: Add Widget to SidebarWas fixed using the “disability view” mode
Its a problem with your server and CHMOD I think. Try changing the file its listing to 777 via FTP client or something

In reply to: Permalink structure /parent/child/article-titleResolved it by just trying a new install *sigh*
I am having the same issue. I can drag other widgets into my sidebar but because NAVT doesn’t have a proper title in the widgets page it won’t let me drag and drop into my sidebar.
Anyone know a fix to manually add a widget to sidebar or a way to add a title so I ahve something to “grab” onto when drag and dropping?

In reply to: Password protecting categoriesTry one of the password plugins like WP-Members or Global Password.
I am not sure you can do it for categories but you can password protect posts and pages using the privacy setting and then setting it on the individual page.
If you do it for every post in a category then that might work.
