well ! let me explain this in a simple language

1) download zip file
2) unzip the file
3) goto folder and see if it has
style.css file

e.g. C:\unbipzzedfolder\theme v1.01\mytheme\style.css

4) upload complete folder which has style.css

e.g. C:\unbipzzedfolder\theme v1.01\mytheme\

as per example u hv to upload “mytheme” folder on wordpress website

now about where to upload ?

logon to your webserver using FTP

upload file in webfolder\wp-content\themes\

how to activate theme ?

goto website.com\wp-admin\
login
now u will reach DASHBOARD ?

click on appearance — > now u will see list of theme’s
select the one u want.
it will give u a preview of that theme

if it is the same theme, then u click on ACTIVE link give above the preview.

can u edit index.php and remove code to show category ?
or edit CSS and make the box larger ??

just goto MyPHPAdmin
options table
and change URL manually

it will start ur bog .. without any hassles …

i was asking this as most of the ppl may want search engine spider to check pages, when they dont want non-members to see the content ..

though it can also mean google catch will have ur content for ppl to see. .

or may b an option to show half content to non-members ..

u can change from category to somethign else e.g movie, star, country, team,

but i hv so far not managed to get a way to remove category url base completely

i use wp with bbpress and u know wot ? i dont hv to customise any thing on bbpress for it to look same. (Except for few theme’s u hv to add sidebar to bbpress)

what i see bbpress is a simple forum, yet to hv lot of features of other forums, but it is improving and lot of plugins been developed quickly.

did you know tht u can customise register page etc.

but it has to b done on wordpress side n not template side.

open ur database structure

in post table defualt status is published, change that to draft.

i hv just tried this for my self … but need to test it for a complete integrity.
