Tried going from b20.61 to WP0.71 (worked) then to WP0.72Gold (worked) but when I tried moving to WP1 CVS 010104 it throughs up the same errors ??

Right, One problem down now some more…
Have taken the step of using the CVS version on some real data (43post blog from 0.72) …once again on my testing server… this time when I call index.php I get
SQL/DB Error:

And in my Apache Error Log I get

And I get the same error on the edit posts page

Cena, Thanks love using the upgrade script worked a treat…obviously the install script hasn’t been updated yet.
As for the COmments thing, I notice in the admin section it says “Comments waiting to be moderated” wheres for posts there is still only the two options allow/disallow comments which would suggest to me that all comments have to be moderated/approved first? Can anyone help?

Love the site, as Cena says It is just a matter of inserting the tags for wordpress into your current design or changing the design to use the wordpress default template.
I took the liberty of demonstrating….

If the design of your website slapped onto the default wordpress template – I.e just upload the images and wp-layout.css and it’ll look like this with the normal index.php – if you want your side bar as it is at the moment move everything from your dairyland div#content to wordpress div#menu
The search box goes a bit wrong as I’ve used ul li as your div#divider and hid the text and as the search box isn’t listed as ul ul li as the rest of the menu text but ul li it disappears too….sorry

Anyway its not finished but hopefully you’ll be able to pick it apart and see how it was done and learn a few bits and pieces by doing so.
Also I’ve checked it in IE6.0 and Mozilla Firebird 0.7
As an aside you may want to reduce the size of reese.gif – 70k is quite ig and for us poor dial up users it takes a while to come down.

I’m going to have to do it for a couple of sites I run (a couple of ezines my dad runs) which is what initially got me thinking about this.
Jaykul your right – allegedly they’ve had 100,000 submissions so far anyway but if every blogger in the uk let alone in the world were to submit to the BL then they could conseivable be looking at that number of posts a day/week easy

It wasn’t all that difficult in the end…changing the
a href=”<?php permalink_link() ?>”
to
a href=”index.php?p=<?php the_ID(); ?>&more=1&c=1″
give the full post and comments when you click on the headers

Just thinking about the line above that says
“as are items originally published elsewhere but distributed in the United Kingdom and in Ireland”
Surely that would be the British Library would have to archive every web page on the planet?? because their all “distributed” in the UK?

please forgive the server its playing up again so is unacceptably slow…I’m moving in a couple of weeks once my host has got its finger out.

I agree the default css files with WP should validate – but I don’t see the point in linking to a validator from the default installation. I didn’t realise the default CSS didn’t validate?
Don’t forget though that just because the CSS validates doesn’t mean that it renders the same in all browsers
