Just make sure that the folder link that you try to upload is written in
Settings-Miscellaneous tab correctly. When it says only wp-content then it doesnt upload anything. When you type there wp-content/uploads then it uploads correctly.

Also if you update your wordpress version lately check that you updated from the correct resource. When you install a wp from for example a German site, then you must wait for that sites updates. Do not attempt to update a German (or any other one) language Wp from the original WP site. Coz it causes some problems like not uploading, not updating plugins etc.

Unable to create directory is said to be related with that hosts safe mode. So I guess you should have it turn on.

Guys I was using Turkish version of 2.7.1 and when I update it updated from this site of course, so I had this error too. But when I update it from that Turkish site I originally installed wp2.7.1 it solved the problem and now I can use my auto-upgrade. Though at another host I installed from this sites original 2.8 I cant use it now it gives blank page and doesnt seem to accept my FTP infos that I use to upload every files, lol ?? Auto-upgrade seems to suck these days.

Thats exactly what I get and its so ridicilous. I can enter my FTP via a FTP program but wordpress can not connect my FTP,everytime it gives blank pages.

PS : My safe mode is off. So it should be working. I guess.

I’ve found lots of unanswered questions in this forum about this subject. I don’t think people will notice this post until they have this error.

Yeah, I don’t have that plug-in either. In fact I only have 6 plugins that are the most popular ones in WP list. They didn’t give any errors while updating since now. Also I didn’t have any problems with installing new plugins too. So it seems like new version comes with a weird bug.

I updated my Wp from 2.7.1 to 2.8 and started getting this error too. I cant auto update my plugins.

Can anyone help me with this situation plz? I reinstalled wp but all same, I cant update my plugins anyhow.

Any idea?

Btw it gives this error while unpacking, not loading.
