Really? No wonder. I have the setting set to 920 and the height to 400. But that still doesn’t make sense as to why really large images like the 1500×811 wouldn’t fit.

800px is less that the slider width so WP doesn’t do anything with that image because it’s too small.

No I said that the images are less than the slider but go some reason fit perfectly in a 920×400 slider.

I’m changing the slider width to 900 to make the example easier to follow

900 / 1500 = 0.6 (width)
400 / 811 = ~ 0.5 (height)

use the larger result above

1500 * 0.6 = 900
811 * 0.6 = 487 ( & WP will crop off the 87px after scaling)

So in this case the 1500×811 image should fit in the slider but it does not.

Some images are actually 800×554 when the slider settings are 920×400. Why doesn’t that cut off while instead they fit perfectly in the slider.

That cannot be right. I put a large image in one that I know would scale to the dimensions of the slider.

The Slider is 920×400. The image was 1500×811

1500*.92= 1380
811*.92= 746.12

Both of these dimensions are bigger than the slider. They should fit properly with the page. What am i doing wrong?

k but you didnt explain why that example wouldn’t work. If I do that exact example it cuts off on yhe bottom. I’ve never had an issue with this. If I made a featured image larger than the slider it would merely cut off excess pixels to fit. So it might chop off a head if the image is larger.

Image is 1000×567. Shouldn’t it resize to 920×522. In that case the image should fit but it doesn’t. Is there a plugin that will automatically crop, size and fit featured images to the size of my slider. 920×400?

So if the slider is 1000w x 500h and I have an image that is 1500×500 it will scale the width to 1000 and the height to 250? Is there a way to make it so the slider will just crop the image automatically cutting out 250 height from top and bottom?

The images are larger than the slider aspect ratio. I regenerate thumbnails but as you can see the image is still cut off

Deactivated all the plugins, nothing. I tried to change this post featured image multiple times, but I keep getting the same cutting off even though the image is 955×534

Has nothing to do with offsetting. I tried to turn offset to 0. Then brought a different post in. It seems to be isolated to specific posts.

Worked for every slide that I had a larger dimension image and then regenerated. Every slide is fine except for 1 and 3. I’ll try and switch out posts to see if that does anything

Anyone? I basically need to sticky the google ad in the bottom of the sidebar, not just have it be the 4th widget. So that once the 3rd widget (which is sticky) hits the 4th it’ll stop.

No they are larger than the size set. I regenerate and nothing happens. I tried to reset the slider settings and now the slider gets stuck on the second slide. This new problem is happening just in safari but not in firefox. I tried to clear Safari Cache but it is still doing the same thing.

Images are still cut off in both browsers.

I have and nothing changes.
