In reply to: Issues with the 'Publish' settingsSo in particular, is the edit button not showing up? Or is it a matter of the edit option being available but the page not allowing you to edit? I’m looking for more specifics on the behavior of the edit button and associated pages.

In reply to: Scheduled Posts disappearingNo problem, so was either the plugin or Alternative Cron able to help you with your problem, or have you yet to try any of the solutions?

In reply to: Issues with the 'Publish' settingsHey there, I was wondering whether you could give us some more detail on the problem. To start off, which version of WordPress are you using? Have you installed any new plug-ins lately? Have you made any other changes in your installation lately? Any details regarding your WordPress installation would be helpful.

In reply to: Scheduled Posts disappearingYou mentioned that you have the Backup WordPress plugin installed. Can you try downloading the backup that plugin makes and restoring your WordPress installation to that backup? I am recommending this on the assumption that you have not made significant changes to your site since the backup, if you have, don’t use the backup.

In reply to: Scheduled Posts disappearingThere seems to be a problem with some WordPress installations not being able to initiate a cron job, cron jobs are what WordPress uses to publish a scheduled post. WordPress seems to offer a solution to this problem via Alternative Cron which you can read about here. Some have also been able to fix their issues by installing this plugin. Its not officially supported but it may still be able to fix your issue.

In reply to: Is there a way to force wordpress to use innodb engine?Talking to the Bluehost support, and asking them to update the version of MySQL for your account should do the trick. As far as I know there is no code you can insert to make the WordPress installer default to InnoDB, though I was able to find this. Its not an officially supported method but it might be of some use.

In reply to: Is there a way to force wordpress to use innodb engine?Hey there, no worries about the English, I understand you fine. If its no trouble I think the problem would be solved if you updated to the latest version of MySQL (version 5.7.5).
According to this, it says that InnoDB became the default storage from 5.5 and onward, so theoretically it should work with 5.5.4, but for a reason I can’t quite grasp, it isn’t working.
Thus why I think you should just update to the latest version of MySQL. It should work no problem.

In reply to: Hacked & password recovery isn't workingHey there, since you can still access DreamHost and its associated site admin software, my recommendation is to backup you’re current site and its database, uninstall your current wordpress installation, and re-install WordPress, then restore from backup: https://wiki.dreamhost.com/My_Wordpress_site_was_hacked.
When creating a WordPress account for the associated www.ads-software.com installation, make sure to use a new and more secure password. I also recommend that you change the password for the DreamHost account just for extra measure, though as per your description of the problem it seems like the DreamHost account was not the point of the vulnerability.
I’m sorry but I am recommending this because it would take too long to solve the problem but it would be take roughly 15 minutes to backup and re-install WordPress.
If the problem persists despite re-installation, its likely that this is an issue with DreamHost and I recommend that you have a chat with their support team: https://www.dreamhost.com/support/.

In reply to: Is there a way to force wordpress to use innodb engine?Hey there, perhaps you weren’t aware but from MySQL version 5.5 and onward InnoDB is the default storage engine for MySQL. You can read about this more here if you want.

In reply to: Download fails certificate checkA similar problem happened here: https://meta.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/611
The common solution seems to be to update wget as older versions have problems with alternate DNS names in certificates. After updating wget the problem shouldn’t persist.

In reply to: New Site with FTP Access OnlyWithout access to the hosting providers web admin software (e.g cPanel), you cannot install WordPress. This is because while most of the installation can be done through FTP, you need to access the web admin page in order to create a database for WordPress as well as a MySQL user to access and modify that database.
