    Hey there!

Thanks for all the details and for including the error; that’s very helpful. I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble since updating; we’re happy to help.

So that we can look into this further on your site, could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here in the chat.

Also, I’ve seen instances of this happening with caching / optimization plugins such as WP Rocket. Specifically, the pixel events are sent from the client (JS), so front-end caching could affect the events or maybe cause duplicate IDs. In addition to caching, this commonly happens when using both Facebook for WooCommerce, and the Facebook Pixel plugin causes event duplications.

Could you check on those two things by temporarily disabling them to see if that helps? For more detailed instructions, check out How to test for plugin and theme conflicts.

We’re happy to take a closer look if you send your Status Report.

    Best,

    Ashley @ WooCommerce

    Hey there!

Thanks for the information. I’m not sure if you’re still expiring this issue, but it seems that you’ve isolated the problem to Chrome, and we’ve not had any reports of forced downloads not working on Chrome, so we need to see why it’s not working for you.

Some things I would try if you haven’t already.

    1. Make sure your browser is up-to-date; if you’re not sure, you can check here: https://www.whatismybrowser.com/
    2. Test a new profile on Chrome (which is essentially like a new session of Chrome without any of your history or user data) to see if the downloads work there. Chrome has some step-by-step instructions for creating a new user profile here. Does it work there? If so, then something is conflicting with your existing Chrome profile. You can find some great steps to troubleshooting common browser issues in this article.

I hope this helps to point you in the right direction. If you’ve already fixed this, feel free to mark your post as resolved; if not, let us know how the above troubleshooting steps go, and we’re happy to help ??
