  • Exact same issue here!!! I have other wordpress installations for different domains at the same web host and none of the others have this problem. I’m running 2.8.2 on the site now, and would love to be able to use automatic update, but can’t. Manual updating is a big pain, especially since this “one” site is trilingual and actually uses three separate wordpress installations to manage the content.

ALL of the installations relating to this domain are experiencing the same problem. This makes me wonder whether it might have something to do with a setting in the htaccess file or with file permissions or something like that. Since I just manually updated to 2.8.2 (I didnt realize that 2.8.3 would be coming out the very next day!), the installation should be pretty clean. I’m not using any plugins that are different from WP installations that I have working smoothly, so unlikely to be a plugin conflict.

The only additional piece of information I can think of that might(?) have an impact here is that the language prefs for all 3 WP installations for this domain are set to French. The other WP installations i am managing are all set to English. Not sure what the relevance might be there, but just in case…!

ANY TIPS OR HELP ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!! Is this a bug? A hack? What is this?? Thanks in advance.

In reply to: Dynamic drop-down menu.

Incorporating a dropdown menu into a WP theme seems to be a frequent request/desire, and with good cause. I’m still working on this myself, so don’t have a full solution to offer except that there seems to be hope with the NAVT navigation menu plugin because it generates nested unordered lists for the custom menu group(s) you create. On this basis you can then customize CSS for those unordered lists and get dropdown menus. I was initially hoping for a less complicated solution, but after having discovered that the Kubrick Tabs Theme plus dTabs led to buggy/unpredictable display results, i decided to rebuild from scratch using the K2 theme (great!) plus NAVT (also great). This combo looks like it will work, but I’m still working through it all… if anybody has any tips here, they would be much appreciated! My goal is: tab based menus where the active main tab stays highlighted when you are on a sub-page of that section and where dropdown menus show up when hovering over any of the tabs that have sub-pages assigned to them…

I have precisely the same issue!!! I tried posting the question on Daiko’s site, but the post submission didn’t go through, so wasn’t able to get an answer.
I also already tried putting commas between the IDs and it also didn’t work for me. I love this widget(!), but the additional flexibility would be really helpful. Maybe someone out there has an answer? Daiko??

Hi – I have a similar question. I’m using WP 2.3.1 and want to have a page — one that is NOT my home page — display just ONE category of content. So for example, the home page may have a series of posts that include photos on one occasion, plain text another, videos another. But then I’d like to have a separate page inside the site that JUST displays the posts that i’ve marked as being in the photos category, a second page just for videos, etc. Have looked around at the plugins list but am not yet finding quite the right thing. Suggestions? Any way to insert code that will achieve this directly into the code editing section of a specific page? Any ideas are very very much appreciated!!! ??

I installed and it worked like a charm without any tinkering… Am using WP 2.3.1
