After you write your blog post, click your mouse where you want your excerpt to end and click the “more” button. If you are writing in html view, this button will say “more”. If you are working in visual view it will look like two blocks with a dashed line in between.

Any theme can look like a website instead of a blog.

• Create a page and name it “Home”
• Go to Settings on the left side of your screen
• Click Reading
• Click “a static page for your front page display
• Choose Home for the front page drop down menu

If you also want a blog, you will need to create a page called “Blog” and choose blog on the second drop down menu on the Reading page for your posts page.
