In reply to: Table Is Corrupt and Repair Doesn't Fix – What Can I do?Hey Marius,
Thanks for the reply. I don’t think it’s so much an issue that keeps, happening, rather than an issue that has been there for a while already, and occasionally causes the table to crash; or at least that’s what I believe.
I have a ticket open with them to see if there’s anything they can do. I’m also looking at options to find a database expert who might be able to fix it.
A friend of mind suggested that I create a new table, import all the data, delete the original ‘posts’ table, and then rename the new table.
Has anyone tried anything like that – do you know if it will work?
As always, any assistance appreciated,
Amit

In reply to: How can I safely move away from feedburner / feedsmith ?Thanks James, I will give that a go.
By the way – going back to the original point.
If it wasn’t the feedsmith plugin that caused the problem, should I disable it, my feed would automatically become revert to default e.g. https://www.unlimitedchoice.org/blog/feed
Much obliged,
Amit

In reply to: How can I safely move away from feedburner / feedsmith ?Hey James,
Yes, but it looks like it might not have been the plugin at all.
I’ve just logged into my blog and the same thing has occurred even though I’ve not done anything.
If you visit the blog now you will see what I mean.
Once I get this problem fixed, I’ll see if I can disable the plugin and hope that it doesn’t cause any issues.

In reply to: Help: rss change and i've killed my blogDid a repair on my database and that has restore.
I’ll log a separate thread to find a way to safely move away from feedburner without killing my blog!
Hey Tim,
It seems to have sorted itself out. I had created that account at some point in the past, so I deleted it and it has since stopped.
Thanks for the advice – Setting to resolved.

In reply to: DB Error – How to Fix Corruption@ Lee Joeseph –
Please take a moment to see this all from my point of view, as the customer, and not your point of view as the hosting company.
Place yourself in my shoes if you were in exactly the same shoes and how you would like all this handled if you were me?
– What do you mean?@bd – I think it’s all fixed now with the help from the hosting company.
How do I get this thread deleted ?
Hey Hector..
I’m sadly not a web developer so I wouldn’t even have a clue where to start…
Thanks for the heads up though – I’ve removed a whole load of plugins today, made sure everything is up-to date, including my thesis theme.
I’ll speak to my hosting company to see if I can get any help.
By the way – where do you see this 500 error? They might ask me to explain where I’m seeing the 500 error?
Thanks,
PS marking topic as resolved. Thanks
Hey Hector,
I found the problematic plugin – it was a plugin I had installed wp-tweet button.
It’s now deactivated.
I’ve also installed jetpack and go rid of WP.com stats
Thanks for all your help! :-)))
