In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] The plugin can run againThanks for the feedback!
While I don’t really have much time to spend on this plugin anymore, I will try to find the time to add the update you described, since it is a relatively small change that could give good results for people still trying to use this plugin.

In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] Breaking change: new embed URIThe draw.io announcement about this domain name change (https://www.diagrams.net/blog/move-diagrams-net) indicates that the old draw.io name should still work for everything. If it is not working for this, please file an issue at their github repo (https://github.com/jgraph/drawio/issues).

In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] Compatibility with GutenbergI’m trying it out right now. It does look there are some problems with the new Gutenberg editor. I’ll continue looking at this and update later.

In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] Can’t access drawit interfaceHuh, weird. What version of WP are you using?
You are supposed to be able to add diagrams through the regular post editor. There are 3 ways to do it from the editor, as shown in this screenshot: https://ps.w.org/drawit/assets/screenshot-2.png?rev=1194531

In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] Can’t use links on certain imagesI certainly believe that this could be a real problem with the draw.io backend, as the support for image links has always been hit-or-miss. I highly recommend searching and/or posting what you’ve found here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/drawio
I’m browsing in there a bit right now regarding the problem you described. If you find an answer, please post it back here so others can benefit too!

In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] Request Entity Too Large@ipstenu thanks for chiming in. There are no server requirements, per se, since I don’t feel it is the plugin’s place to mandate a maximum drawn file size. It sounds like if a user has a particular use case in mind which includes embedding very large images, then that is the server requirement for that particular scenario. The image 397 KB size that @snowgalvin called out does not seem unreasonably large.
I can add something to FAQ about this, and can also explore changing how the drawn image gets uploaded back to the server, but ultimately this does seem like a server setting limitation like you pointed out.

In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] How to open link in a new windowGood question – but it turns out that has nothing to do with this plugin at all, that would be entirely handled by the draw.io tool and folks themselves. You should ask them if they support links that open in new tabs: https://support.draw.io/display/DO
I’m kind of surprised that I don’t see this question already asked on their support site.

In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] the best diagram plugin, periodThanks for the praise for the plugin! Funnily enough, yesterday I literally saw a car driving the wrong way on a 1-way highway underpass in my town!

In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] Allow User to Draw on PostInteresting, sounds like a cool plugin ability. I think that deserves to be it’s own plugin, rather than part of this one (two simple plugins versus one complex plugin). Someone should make one (or drawblog should update their or someone else take over it). It probably won’t be me, not enough time.

In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] Whitespace at end of main plugin fileThanks for the heads-up. I am aware that this is a no-no, but didn’t realize this was present in the plugin

In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] Change destination folder to save diagramsI intentionally designed the plugin to not allow a custom save-to directory. Things work much nicer with WordPress if I adhere to their standards for where to save things. You certainly can find tutorials online on how to change your low-level wordpress code (in
wp-config.php
) to allow a custom upload directory, but I highly advise against doing this. Doing so would make your site difficult to port to other servers / wordpress installations should the need arise.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] Not Showing to the FrontendAre you using a plugin for that frontend editor? If so, which one? I’d like to try it out on my own wordpress installation. Thanks

In reply to: [DrawIt (draw.io)] Drawing not editableI can’t see a class number in the HTML src for those images. When you copy/paste into the comment box, make sure to click the
code
button first, paste the code, then click the/code
button to indicate the end of the code, then it will display correctly.Forum: Plugins
