When I post in /%postname%/ I get the path
generated as
https://www.domain.com/categories/supplements/

I would prefer not have the 2 sub directories but I cant figure out how to remove one of themn so i get

https://www.domain.com/supplements/

but this gives me
domain.com/blog/date/2006/06/

I’ve no pluggins at all which might have slowed things down.

going directly to
/domain.co.uk/blog/wp-admin/edit.php
works faster.
So i’ll just use that.

I guess I put up a new file called blog.php and didn’t rename the original index.php
I didn’t include the loop.
Is this what picks up the postings and shows them in blog.php ?

WordPress address is https://www.domain.com
Blog address i swww.domain.com
I called my blog file blog.php

What I can’t get is how does blog.php pick up any
postings I make.
Does it have an <include> statement in it?
Is this created at installation time?
How else can blopg .php pick up new postings if it
doesn’t have an include statement in it?

I’m not sure if you mean the original index file
called index.htm (before I started using wordpress)

or the index file generated by wordpress called index.php
