In reply to: [Cleverness To-Do List] Permissions don't workOk, in the user permissions for the plugin I have everything set to “Read”. And then in the User Role Editor (I use that plugin) I see there are 6 task-related items that begin with “Cp” so I deselected all of them for Authors. However, when I login as an author I can still add tasks, as well as select tasks to remove them. I only want editors and admins to add tasks. Is that not possible?

In reply to: [CollabPress] Plugin Disabled my DashboardA screenshot would do no good. I hover over the left column menu in the Admin home page and none of the menu items slide out. Because the menu items would not slide out, I had to delete the item from the plugins directory.

In reply to: [WordTwit Twitter Plugin] Does not tweet automatic postsThanks Tom and the plugin author. I think your resolutions should be prominently displayed in the plugin installation instructions, especially for non-developers:
1. During setup, add your website home page url to the Callback URL, or on the Settings tab if its forgotten in setup. And …
2. After setup is complete, go to the Settings tab and change the Application Type from Read Only to Read and Write.
Now WordTwit publishes to my Twitter account.
Thanks!

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Persistent 404s on specific pagesHey Nick,
This isn’t a solution for the current version of w3tc, but I was having some issues with the latest version so I’ve been using version 9.2.5 and have had no issues (download archived version here: https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/w3-total-cache.0.9.2.5.zip). It includes a patch for the infamous “Christmas vulnerability”. Hopefully, it will solve your issues, as well.btw: I appreciate all Frederick does for this wonderful app. Just monitoring the support tickets for the latest version until I’m comfortable making the upgrade.
Also, I have some settings for wt3c that work for my host that may help you at https://www.allthingsdemocrat.com/w3-total-cache-cookieless-subdomain-godaddy-shared-hosting/ (just ignore the politics if you don’t agree).

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] How to skip caching of non-WordPress pagesany thoughts? there may be an admin setting or a change i can make to my .htaccess file, but i need some help. thanks.
I’m sure if you would take over this and the Quick Cache plugin you’d get lots of donations. w3tc and wpsupercache are too invasive, too difficult to completely delete, and for many they actually make the site slower. I returned to Quick Cache tonight after a long time with w3tc. But it looks from the Quick Cache support forum that the visitors are attempting to solved the issues on their own, which is a double-edged sword. I’ll check back to see if you decide to do this …

In reply to: [Social Media Feather | social media sharing] Pinterest?Nevermind. I won’t be selecting Pinterest from the share options. A Pinterest user has infringed on our trademark and we get no response from them. And now they’ve notified us that the vendor they use to respond to support tickets had a security breach and my name and email address were accessed. I’ve been receiving tons of porn spam ever since (see my post). I won’t be sharing anything with Pinterest.

In reply to: [Social Media Feather | social media sharing] Pinterest?I was also just going to ask this. Looking forward to the upgrade.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] Won't stay logged inThanks Frederick for all the work you do on this excellent plugin. Its definitely the best one going, and I’ve tried them all. The previous version is working for me at the moment so I’ll continue to monitor the forum for a while and wait until the new support posts thin-out a bit or until the next version release.
I’ve written a post on my blog to help those using w3tc with Godaddy shared hosting, with all the settings that work well for my site. I’ve also added instructions on setting up a cookieless subdomain and other optimization tips. If you see anything that needs correcting, please let me know.
