I can’t release the full error log data for privacy reasons. I looked at the logs for the periods of both errors and saw that the beginning of each error condition was marked by a series of errors like this:
[Sat May 28 08:55:58.806700 2022] [cgi:error] [pid 353288:tid 4306276620032] [client [my IP address]] Script timed out before returning headers: php74.cgi, referer: https://ateupwithmotor.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=WP-Optimize
There was no other logged error that seemed to be specific to WP-Optimize.
It’s essentially impossible for me to do that:
- The issue I described does not happen consistently. I used the optimization feature at least a dozen times yesterday with no issue at all.
- When it does happen, I can’t take any meaningful additional troubleshooting steps until my web host kills all running processes and resets the server. (I generally can’t even access the Currently Installed Plugins page when the problem happens, and if I do, I can’t take any action there. Disabling plugins via FTP has no impact on the “runaway” process causing the issue; when this happened the second time, I disabled WP-Optimize, but this didn’t solve the issue.)
So, if the issue doesn’t occur, enabling or disabling plugins reveals nothing. If the issue DOES occur, I can’t enable or disable additional plugins, and disabling WP-Optimize doesn’t make the issue stop, which isn’t very revealing.

The first time I tried, I also got the following WordPress error:
Error Details ============= An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 152 of the file /home/dh_mykb4t/ateupwithmotor.com/contentfiles/plugins/visual-form-builder/visual-form-builder.php. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required '/home/dh_mykb4t/ateupwithmotor.com/contentfiles/plugins/visual-form-builder/inc/class-list-table.php' (include_path='.:')
I tried a second time and got the same user error noted above, but so far have not gotten a WordPress error notification.
I just installed 3.1, tested it, and got the same user error as above: Trying to submit a test form returns an error “This field is required and cannot be empty” even though all required fields were definitely completed. The form was not submitted.

In reply to: [Visual Form Builder] Visual Form Builder error interferes with Widget listBy “end of file,” do you mean the theme’s functions.php file?
Thanks!
(I was able to temporarily resolve the problem by reverting to Visual Form Builder 3.0.8 — although that version has other problems — so this appears to be definitely related to the version 3.0.9 update.)
I am having the same issue. It appeared after the update to Visual Form Builder 3.0.9, which is also triggering other technical errors, so I don’t believe that it’s related to WordPress 5.9.3.
@alxjensen, are you having any problems with accessing the Widgets on your site from the administrative dashboard?

In reply to: [Disable Gutenberg] Active widgets not visible in dashboardA little while after I posted this, I got “Your site is experiencing a technical issue” messages on each of my sites, indicating that the issue is a conflict caused by an error in another of my plugins (Visual Form Builder), which was updated the other day. So, it probably doesn’t have anything directly to do with Disable Gutenberg. Sorry about that!
Okay, thanks! (I decided to discontinue using Google Analytics, but it’s good to know for others’ reference.)

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Table questionOops, I didn’t realize it wasn’t already marked closed — the above response answered my question. Thanks!
@atxmatt I’m hoping you mean “enjoy” in a non-ironic way!
Ahh, that’s frustrating. At least it doesn’t appear to be loading email content from iThemes servers, which would be a dealbreaker.
(I’d actually like to remove the footer logo from all email notifications, but the 2FA codes are the ones I use most often, for obvious reasons.)
Yes, it was something like that, followed by a lengthy list of files.
