James,
Disregard my last post. I went back through the thread and found that the themes folder didn’t exist within the wp-content/directory. So I made a new folder inside titled “themes”. went back into my admin page and downloaded again and it worked. The site is back up now (YEAH!) but all my content is missing. I’m sure it’s another simple fix but not sure where yet.
Thank you!
AdamJames,
All plugins were already deactivated. I tried to download the Twenty Fifteen theme and I get this error message:
Installing Theme: Twenty Fifteen 1.4
Downloading install package from https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/theme/twentyfifteen.1.4.zip…Unpacking the package…
Installing the theme…
Could not create directory. /home/content/e/r/i/ericbatterton/html/wp-content/themes/twentyfifteen/
Theme install failed.
James,
I think I’m a little closer. I realized after your last post I had not uploaded the folder directories (wp-admin & wp-content). So that’s been done. I can now get into my admin page BUT when navigated to the website itself I’m just getting a blank screen. Thoughts on that? I believe the issue now is with the theme. It says it’s not available.
Thank you very much for your help!
Adam
James,
I’m hosting my site in godaddy. As you instructed I downloaded WordPress 4.4 onto my desk top. I went into the godaddy ftp and deleted all the wp files & folders except wp-config.php & /wp-content/directory…leaving the originals alone. I uploaded all the new wp files/folders (except the two above) from my desktop. Now I’m getting this message when going to my website or to the admin site:
Warning: require(/home/content/e/r/i/ericbatterton/html/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/e/r/i/ericbatterton/html/wp-settings.php on line 21
Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/e/r/i/ericbatterton/html/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php’) in /home/content/e/r/i/ericbatterton/html/wp-settings.php on line 21
I hope I haven’t totally lost years of work at this point. Please help ??
Thank you James for the advice. I tried the first two tips you gave but unfortunately I’m still getting this error message when trying to log into my admin page:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_removable_query_args() in /home/content/e/r/i/ericbatterton/html/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 900
I also tried to update the wordpress app within godaddy but I don’t think that’s going to work either. To be honest I’m not sure if that’s where I’m suppose to download wordpress again per your instructions.

In reply to: [Virtue] "Theme Options" are blank/missingI’m having the same issue where the Theme Options page is completely blank. I first noticed the problem when my home page lost it’s main image and text. I’m using the Cloriato Lite theme by InkThemes.com.

I am a novice at WordPress and web design in general so please dumb down any help you can provide.
Thank you!
