Well @acstudent it is a bit more complicated than that. A few months ago, i was locked out of my account, which happened because of a faulty plugin. I had to disable the plugins from phpmyadmin and restart the blog.

I have an image(backup) but it will revert back to its previous stage and i am afraid of losing access again.

Also after that around 6 months ago i lost access again due to password leak(it being part of a data breach).

It has been a bumpy ride (you can guess)

There are(if i remember correctly) more than 500 files. I have been blogging since 2015. So yes images are too numerous.

Your home page is trying to load https://filmicsite.com/“https:/i1.wp.com/filmicsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Roma-2018-movie-cast.jpg?fit=640%2C320”

If I remove the quote marks and the https://filmicsite.com/ the image loads fine. You could probably correct this in the source code, if the images are not too numerous.

Can you guide me through how to go about this. Also can you elaborate how does wordpress find out where to find the images from?

Is it somewhere in the config file? May be we can tell wordpress to go to https:/i1.wp.com/filmicsite.com/wp-content/uploads/

Thanks for the help I accessed it and have got admin privilaged. Should i delete the original admin user. Will this delete posts written by the original admin?

The only step I can think of as a ‘gotch ya’ in that is to make sure you use the MD5 setting if you change that password.

I did that. I have access to the user . I can login alright. But can’t access my dashboard. @jnashhawkins I am sorry for the troubles but i have been using wordpress for a while and this has never happened.

And on the new user… that will be a subscriber in the ‘role’ setting which is a drop down if I remember correctly so you just select admin in the drop down and save it back.

A subscriber can’t access the dashboard? How can i access the option to edit role.

I do have a right username and password and i am logged in, i cant access the dashboard.

I used this guide to create a new id. But I can’t login to the wp-admin and access the dashboard. I can only see my blog itself.

I followed the steps carefully and actually made the user using my phpadmin. I have the access to it and can edit it still.

Can you tell me how to properly promote the user?
