Well, I use Magic Fields a lot and I could not wait any longer to test it with custom post types. Here’s my patch: How to extend Custom Post Types with Magic Fields right away.

I just want to let you know, that I’ve done some experimental modifications to the original code, allowing me to assign Write Panels to any post type I’ve created using practically any plugin. So far tested with Easy Post Types and Custom Post Type UI.
