In reply to: [WooCommerce] Unwieldy and un-intuitiveThe product variations is the one and only thing I managed to fix. That now works fine. What can I not do? Pretty much everything to fit woocommerce into my web site. What I would like to be able to do is set my (1 of 3) product page to suit my site style, then add the relevant woocommerce widgets for that product. I want to use my own picture placement, a review carousel, description etc. Why? Because Woocommerce does all those things badly or not at all. Instead I am stuck with terrible looking, unprofessional pages.
P.S. I tried support and I think I got the office cat as there was nothing forthcoming in the way of help. The search / documents function was, as the plugin, not a lot of help. Thanks for you reply.Forum: Reviews
In reply to: [Gutenberg] Just another Wix builder… but worse“There will be plugins soon that will totally disable Gutenberg”
There are and they have been around for a few months now. Disable Gutenberg which blocks this monstrosity and Classic Editor which restores the Classic Editor, but the latter is only intended for the next couple of years before Gutenstein is forced on all.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Guys just try it more!I agree with SouthBloom. I tried it for 4-5 days and hated it, I have tried it twice since. I think I have given it a far try and can honestly say if this becomes part of core, on update there are going to be a lot of very dissatisfied WP users. If people want this there are a lot of plugins to use, and to be honest they all do it a lot better than this.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Utter Crap – Totally Useless (Zero Stars)mhogas, you should understand how condescending your reply is. dave94’s comment is not disrespectful or of zero worth. What is of zero worth is people leaving negative comments about this as the developers leave the same stock replies and are basically ignoring the negative comments. Meanwhile it looks as though we are going to be stuck with this horrible editor as the developers are going full steam ahead to implement this even as the wheels are already falling off. If you think people are being negative now just wait until those who are unaware of this ‘innovation’ are suddenly stuck with. That’s when the sh!tstorm will really start.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] I was wrong450 -ve reviews is not a significant number compared to WP users but… How many people are not aware of Gutenberg or the intention to include it in core. I guarantee on the update to 5, if Gutenberg is included the negative comments and cries of derision will increase a 1000 fold when people are suddenly confronted with this.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Great Plugin – Long Time Users Don’t Understand‘Old Users Don’t Understand’ what a condescending title. I have tried page builders but prefer the text editor as it suits my content. A page builder may suit yours but don’t presume that one type of content editor fits all, it doesn’t. ANd don’t presume to dictate how others build their pages.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Gave it a good try, but it is a fail. Thanks for the link, it 404’ed. None of my plugins appeared under gutenberg unless they were hidden away some where I couldn’t find them. If they were there and were active then that is another negative as it is even less useful than I thought. The image issue is that they were huge, spread across the page and I couldn’t find a way to set them up correctly.
I appreciate that some of these issues are because of my unfamiliarity with gutenberg but it was not intuitive at all and seemed to make even the most simple task cumbersome or impossible.
As many have said there are many page builder plugins that apparently do the job 100x better than gutenberg. Maybe you should try parking this in the failed bin and work on a better basic editor as I am afraid this isn’t it.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Admin AvatarEveryone without gravatar gets the same default avatar. That plugin, along with every other similar one, only allows you to change the default avatar, but not set up a specific avatar for admin. But thanks for you time.
