What I mean is, WP tells me theme.css is not installed. You say it belongs in the theme folder. Style.css is already in the theme folder.

Thank you. On your advice I deleted error log and index.php

Where does style.css, which I just learned is the same as stylesheet, go?

    (@autismne)

It says I need to install a stylesheet. I don’t see that in the zip file.

Thank you, Moshu. I would be happy to start over again.

I downloaded the theme, as I was advised, once I was told to click on the word “Cutline”, and it was explained to me what I needed to look for.

Then I revisited the WordPress instructions on installing a theme. Since I was replacing the same theme, I thought I needed to deleted the old, corrupted theme first. So I deleted it. Then I uploaded the zip file to the theme folder in wp-content, and extracted the contents, per the WP instructions.

Now the instructions tell me to go to the Administration Panel on my blog. But my blog is blank. So how do I access my admin panel?

I’m sorry things got out of hand, but your volunteer needs to realize that not everyone lives and breathes WP. She could have been more clear. That’s all. Now I’ll try to behave.

Now my site has gone completely blank. Thanks for your expert advice. Oh, I forget, you’re a volunteer, so I guess it’s OK to give muddled advice.

Yes, I’m sure whooami knows her stuff. She just hides it well.

And I know my site has some problems, and it would be nice if there was a place I could go for answers.

I now know better than to ask WordPress how to use WordPress.

Thank you for taking the time to clearly explain what I need to do.

    The link you cited was:

    ? 2006–2007 Autism News Beat

    Did you click on that?

    Thread Starter autismne

    (@autismne)

Let it be known there is no link at the bottom of my page. Unless you define a link as text that does nothing when you click on it.

There is no link at the bottom of my page. That statement comes with the assumption you read English. No disrespect intended.

I posted a question on the forums last week asking which version of WP I need for Mac. Still waiting for a snarky volunteer to offer a cryptic answer. Can’t wait.

    No, I gave up.

And I recommend WP learn the meaning of customer service, and offer clear directions for their software interface.

Youve removed practically everything from that file except the widget stuff.

I don’t know what this means. I wouldn’t know how to remove anything from “that file” – I’m not even sure what file you’re talking about.

Go get the zip for the them you are using.. there is a link to it at the bottom of your site.

What is a “zip”? There is no link at the bottom of my home page.

Youre using cutline 3col split.. the download is in the middle-ish part of the linked page, and its identified by cutline 3col split

    What linked page?

Once you have that, open the unedited file in a plain text editor and look at it.

Does this have anything to do with my BlueHost control panel?

One thing you will notice is that the default right hand sidebar file has this:

That would be a good place for you to put your blogroll.

    —–

At the very least you need to wrap what you have in

      and

    tags.

Does “what you have” refer to the line of code that I inserted in sidebar.php ?

Why does it take four days for an answer?

    Thread Starter autismne

    (@autismne)

I pasted the blogroll code in the r sidebar.php, when I go into xHTML, I see this (for each line in the blogroll). What am I doing wrong?

    # Error Line 361, Column 17: document type does not allow element “li” here; missing one of “ul”, “ol”, “menu”, “dir” start-tag.

    <li><a href="https://autismdiva.blogspot.com/">Autism Diva</a></li>
    ?

The mentioned element is not allowed to appear in the context in which you’ve placed it; the other mentioned elements are the only ones that are both allowed there and can contain the element mentioned. This might mean that you need a containing element, or possibly that you’ve forgotten to close a previous element.

One possible cause for this message is that you have attempted to put a block-level element (such as "<p>" or "<table>") inside an inline element (such as "<a>", "<span>", or "<font>").

Is the 2.3.3 for Mac also?
