I suggest you to check your .htaccess file too, if there are any illegal character which are not supported by it or any words which should not be there, create the problem, so check it once too

As I know you should enter the correct database details in your wp-config file, as you are on localhost, there will be different logins for database and now on your hosting it will be different

If you need users to only register for your event, you can use any plugin for this.
But if you want them to share their thoughts after event, this can be accomplish by Comments.
You can use Akismet Plugin to stop spammers. But this will work for comments only.

Right now, it takes me to all regular posts associated with that tag and none of the tutorials are listed

The url is localhost/testsite/tag/tagtest and I want to see something more like localhost/testsite/tutorials/tagtest

If Tag is a default taxonomy you can use permalink in Settings.

Yes you should. And remember one more thing, If you want your user to post article on your blog or site you should open your registration, so that visitors can create account in your site, or you can also send them login info after creating account for them.

I am also using the same my permalink is
/%type%/%postname%/

[type] is a non hierarchical custom taxonomy.
It works fine when I use posts, but when I try to open pages it show not found.

Is there any solution for this? I have tried it alot bit no success.
