In reply to: GoDaddy new host for WP website, must change IPThanks Mark. I opted for the transfer so any server changes they would do would be seamless. After changing the IP address, Godaddy says wait another 24-48 hours.

In reply to: GoDaddy new host for WP website, must change IPIn WP, there’s an edit function for my A record for https://www.avonwater.com. If I hit edit, it shows the domain, but not the IP address, only the example in gray eg. 1,1.1. etc. But it also shows “Are you sure you want to edit your A record. Doing so will result in not being able to access the site on wordpress.com.
Should I go ahead and edit that record so the IP address for Godaddy is saved there? I don’t really want to access wordpress.com since now I am dot org, do I? Advice?

In reply to: GoDaddy new host for WP website, must change IPI only purchased their hosting services, and the manage hosting option only shows that the site is up and running, no issues but with the image of the page that says “Parked free by WordPress” When I go deeper into the managed side, it pulls up the page with parked as the webpage, no tools to manage ftp. That is why they told me to download filezilla.

In reply to: GoDaddy new host for WP website, must change IPGoDaddy support said all is good on their side but that I must change the IP A record on the WordPress side to point to the correct IP. They say I must change my IP on wordpress side since I purchased the domain through WP and there is an admin panel in wp to do so. Any help finding that access would be appreciated.

In reply to: GoDaddy new host for WP website, must change IPAfter 48 hours, and the Godaddy zone launch fix, the website avonwaters.com still shows parked by wordpress. Any ideas how to get this to launch? How to get wordpress to unpark it? Is the issue on WP end or Godaddy?

In reply to: GoDaddy new host for WP website, must change IPThanks Mark, Godaddy says the launch failed and they are going to have to do a zone launch to fix the issue and that will take 24 to 48 hours. Until then they say the sftp information will not launch a file manager or can be accessed via a file manager such as what I am using, filezilla.

In reply to: GoDaddy new host for WP website, must change IPSomething is wrong. 3 p.m. May 29 the server name was changed to the godaddy names, but 75 hours later, the https://www.avonwaters.com still shows parked by wordpress and the webtool you sent shows only two servers as zero time to launch, the rest as failed.

In reply to: GoDaddy new host for WP website, must change IPI called GoDaddy and the Nameservers they gave me were added to the gateway and I deleted the WordPress dot com name servers. So now it will start the launch process?

In reply to: GoDaddy new host for WP website, must change IPOvernight two of the many servers showed time to launch zero and the others still show failed; but I have lost access to my website via the temp url, is this a normal thing while waiting for the domain shift? And the USER name for it now no longer exists and I had to sign into this forum using the old WP password and user name. Is that normal too?

In reply to: GoDaddy new host for WP website, must change IPThanks, I saw an N1, N2 and when I put the ip address in and hit save, it added an N3. Your instructions sure are a lot easier to follow than the FTP upload process they were trying to have me do through Filezilla. Thanks, this should work after I sort out the NS.

In reply to: GoDaddy new host for WP website, must change IPThanks Mark: one followup, when you write “click Use the custom Name Servers listed below
and enter in there the Godaddy Name Servers they will have given you.
Update that. And then you have to wait a while (up to 72 ho…” Name of server, is that the IP address I have for the GoDaddy host? I was only given IP, Post, Username and PW for a DNS transfer. Is the server name you refer to something other than the IP address?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Nothing found on Untitled theme homepageI too am not getting the theme or front page with the headlined postings and feature photo. I had it in my unpublished mockup and even had the slider without jetpack, but after I published my first post the theme or front page and slider disappeared https://www.avonwaters.com
I thought by adding posts it might reappear as the sample with the banner and show only the headlines but that is not the case. Even the featured photo across the top banner is gone from the blog page. The dashboard doesn’t list the blog page, only the “about” and “gallery” I added; so I cannot add the featured bleeding bordered photo to the blog entry page.
