I started a new clean website.
As soon as i used the plugin fourteen extended to center the website,
the blank sidebar appears (not on the homepage). Sadly the plugin works not completely good.

So I set the first website back (to the left)

    But thanks for the support

Maybe it’s easier to delete the whole website and begin all over again?
Now I know most settings and dimensions of the pictures. I learned a lot.

The fourteen theme is beautiful, but I’d rather start again than to have to remove and add stuff. It’s much faster for me I think ??

    Thanks for the quick help.
I’ll post again if the fault persists.
    (Sorry for my bad English)

    Thanks for the suggestion,
I tried it but it doesn’t work. Even reducing to 600px didn’t work. Now i’ve set the slider to 100%.

The next thing I tried: set all pages to default template and i removed all featured images, but still the same.

The sites looks good when the screen is smaller. Only when using the widescreen the pages (not the homepage) have the same problem, so?

Is there a way to set the left sidebar-background to color black?
    Thanks Anita

    Thanks,
I think I know what the problem is. I centered the website using the plugin “fourteen extended”, but the background of the left sidebar remained left. The text of the widgets is white and is therefore against a white background not readable. I have a widescreen pc. If I make the site smaller, the black background appears on the right place. Theme 2014 is not quite responsive?

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thanks Anita
