Thanks for the confirmation netflint. As it happens, the above also happened on multi-site installs. A dev friend of mine suggested it may be a venerability in a plugin or theme. Maybe we should compare the plugins we have activated on our installs to determine if there’s a common link…then continue debugging from there. If you’d rather not post your plugin list here, just check my profile for my site and contact me through there if you’re interested…

I just wanted to clarify something…this would only be needed if my host was running a PHP version below PHP5 then correct?

All three of my sites are running PHP Version 5.2.13

Can you explain #6? I am having the same issue with Twitter Tools. This is happening on three different sites running the plugin.

Maybe it’s a Twiiter thang???

Looks like the creator of the WP plugin is actually Matt Martz, Micheal is the creator of Shadowbox JS which this plugin is based from.

You’ll want to search for the “Widget Logic” plugin from your “Plugin–>Add New” area in the backend of your install.

Install that plugin and it puts a new input field in the bottom of your widgets that allows you to put conditional tags for each plugin.

As an example, if you had a page with a slug named “about” and if you wanted a widget to only show on that page, you would enter the following in the “Widget Logic” area at the bottom of the widget:
is_page('about')

I put out the feelers to a couple plugin dev friends and will follow up with them and will post back any results. The hurdle is whether or not WP allows for a filter or hook for Widget titles.

2) Here’s a crazy idea: some way of auto(-magic?) linking of WP functions and template tags to their related Codex entries? Almost every answer/response I’ve given in the support forums has involved linking to the Codex.

Try this [codex name] it should work e.g. Template_Tags

What about the ability to search the codex directly from the editor and insert the relevant codex link (or codex text) with the click of a button. The functionality would be similar to how an image is inserted into a post after choosing it from the media library, or how Vladimir Prevolac’s “Insights” plugin works. While we’re at it, why not include the ability to search and insert the plugin repository too?

Also, +1 for email notification.

I haven’t heard, but I sure hope we can find a resolution to this. Pretty please @markjaquith…we beg of you:)

I realize that this functionality is being built into 3.0, but the site I have won’t be upgraded for at least several months after the release of 3.0.

Thanks for your reply, I did do those things, but your wording “into the root” led me to my mistake, I was editing the index.php and .htacceess in the /dev/ directory, not the root of the site.
