That one only possible via a child theme.
Please download this sample child theme and then select homepage 2 for the template.
You might want to add space below the slider by adding this CSS code:

div#featured-content {
    margin-bottom: 1.5rem;
}

I’m sorry to hear that.

The content slider only works if you already create some posts and then organize it by category.

At the slider setting, you can choose which category that you want to display as a slideshow.

Sorry for not so easy way to setup the slider.
For now, this is how to get the slider work:
1. Create a page and then set “Homepage” as the page template.
2. Navigate to Admin dashboard > settings > reading > Static front page and then select the page that you create previously.
