We have the latest version, WPtouch 4.3.52.

Unfortunately, the feature still doesn’t work for us. The top preview slider is no longer functional. We just see a blank space. Please see screenshot here:

It was working perfectly for many years before. We haven’t changed any aspect of the blog, so there is a bug with this plug-in regrettably.

We’ve had to turn-off the top slider of the featured blog posts, so that website viewers are not seeing the blank space.

The top-of-the-page menu bar also has stopped working now on mobile ?? Can’t access the links or use the search bar.

It was working fine previously for years.

We haven’t touch a single thing with the blog e.g. add or remove a plugin, or update WordPress.

Please can you help?

I’ve tried the URL you kindly provided. That just sent us to a 404 page.

Then I tried the URL without the &post_type=post and that sent me to the ‘Posts’ section of the WP dashboard but saying “No posts found.”

I then tried to deactivate all the plugins. However, once again, the drafts section was not there. Nor did the URL you provided show them.

Any ideas in terms of what else I can try please?

We do have backups of the blog, using different backup methods. Would the draft blog posts be in a particular folder please?

Can anyone help please? On the mobile view, the top-of-the-page carousel is still not working and there is just a large blank white space.

p.s. update, we have removed the carousel completely, as it doesn’t look good have a blank space at the top of our blog. But we would like to fix this problem, so suggestions welcome please?

As per my message above, unfortunately editing the footer.php file does not update the text in the footer.

My own expertise of WordPress does not allow me to track back from the file where the footer code may be pulled from.

I have saved the footer file here in case anyone is able to help. As you may see, I have updated the Copyright message to 2023, but on the webpage it still shows as 2021 as the text is coming from elsewhere (I have ensured several times the page is not cached).

1. The theme was completely free and we never had to pay for it.
2. The company that created the theme, which you have linked to, has stopped supported the theme in 2014. They don’t reply to communications.

The edit of the footer is not specifically related to this theme, but a general query about editing WordPress footers.

Contact Form 7 is now showing. But, as per my message above, the map from Google maps is still no longer appearing.

Any idea on how to fix matters so it re-appears please?

The contact form is suddenly appearing for me again now. I’ve tried in a few browsers. I am relieved and delighted!

I know it’s an entirely different plugin, but we used Simple Google Map to show a map of our client’s location below the contact form. It appeared for years below the ‘send’ button. However, I just noticed that the map has also disappeared?

Strangely, the map no longer appears on the desktop site, but does on the mobile one.

Kindly advise what I can do to show the map on desktop site please?

Which CDN are we using for this website please, so we may hard refresh the page out of the cache? I’ve tried using two different CDN checkers and they say the site is not using a CD.

We have deleted the “display: none” line from the style.css file in the folder you have specified.

However, the contact form still doesn’t appear. We have tried in several different browsers and devices.

As an experiment we have tried to change the theme to the default WordPress one of 2023 and the form does suddenly appear when we do that.

But I would like to emphasise that we have been using the identical theme for our website for nearly ten years – the theme has not had to be edited or ‘updated’ in any way – and it has always shown Contact Form 7 without any problems until now.

What can we do to have Contact Form 7 appear again please?

If it is an issue with the theme, for your information the theme hasn’t been changed and is identical to what we have been using for many years. So why has Contact Form 7 stopped working now when it worked correctly with the identical theme for many years?

I’d be genuinely curious to know.

Yes, we have tried different options on that tab in the plugin.

We have tried switching the following features on and off, in different combinations:

“Use FTP Passive Mode.”

“Use explicit SSL-FTP connection.”

However, we get the same FTP errors.

We have also tried setting up the FTP again several times etc.

We use other backup services and don’t suffer these FTP errors with them.

Any suggestions what we could do please?
