Hi, I tried that plugin as suggested, and actually it didn’t work (it caused ‘too many redirects’ error), but after uninstalling it I found that the original problem is also gone. I don’t know why, but as a result my problem is resolved. Thank you so much.

Thanks, I changed the browser from Opera to Chrome and then it now works fine.
I couldn’t figure out why, but the problem was solved.

So, using multiple periods in filenames causes the problem?
BTW, the problem doesn’t occur when the filename is “xxxxx.a.jpg”. Maybe I’m going to read WP source codes to see what it is doing.

This problem is easy to reproduce. Just upload a file with filename “xxxxx.aaa.jpg” and you can see what happens.
