    Hi elmedi,

    The plugin divided the back up to a large number of files because of many limitations on servers and hosting providers all over the World:

    1. Many of servers and most of shared hosting providers do not support big files;
    2. To create a one big file will be needed much memory of server/hosting;
    3. To create a one big file will be needed much “script running time” of server/hosting;
    4. In case you create backup on Dropbox (not Local backup) – a big backup file must be transferred to Dropbox. Through Internet connection speed of website OR script running time – the backup transfer can be interrupted and backup will not be transferred to Dropbox.
    5. In case your website server/hosting have a high loading (for example it has many website visitors or many other tasks) – it will not be possible create a backup within one big file;

    We had to split the backup file into many smaller files, to optimize the using of backup creation time & memory, and get it worked correctly on any web hosting or any web server in the world to create backup faster and efficient.
    The total size of all small files in your backup – is the size of your whole backup.
    Here are listed only the main reasons for the need to split the archive.

    You DON’T NEED extract backup files by yourself!
    The Dropbox backup and restore plugin will do the whole website restoring automatically.

    To start website restoring – just click the “restore” button on plugin page near appropriate backup, that was created before.

    Thanks for your review and for using of our Dropbox backup and restore plugin.

    Hello thrillho,
    This user was automatically created through our backup&restore plugin for maintenance service ONLY.
    ONLY if there is some error in the process of backup or restore. So that we can ensure our services for you without any difficulties and complications. This user has a randomly and highly strong generated password.
    In any case, before we can touch this user, we send an official request to the site owner to get an authorized access. We DO NOT SELL and DO NOT TRANSFER the data of our users/customers/visitors to third parties.
    If you don’t need it – you can simply delete this user and deactivate “maintenance services” in plugin “Settings”.

    I have suggested you support (also through Teamviewer support) and you was answered during several hours on each of your requests.

    You written, that you didn’t have security plugins, but in your early mail you write about “wordfence security plugin”.
    You written, that you have no problems with Cloudflare, but it does cache of your website and you can’t see your website in real-time.

    As I can see from your emails, your security plugins prevent to do the restoring operations.

    You was suggested for any kind of help and you refuse it. Is it a joke?
    We can REPAIR ALL of your existed problems about hosting, website and their configuration.

    It’s impossible to guess your thoughts, especially if you do not tell the truth (security plugins and Cloudflare).
    It’s impossible to help you, if you refuse any type of support (as you write – signed NDAs).

    It looks like your joke!

    Restore, backup AND our support – works for all our users and customers.

    The wrong file!

    Currently my max file upload size is 200M

    this is in your PHP configuration file php.ini (this is wrong file!),
    but
    you need the configuration file of MySQL database server – my.cnf on your hosting.
    In most cases this config file can be foud in default system folder of MySQL /etc/mysql/my.cnf
    OR
    The file might be in 6 locations on hosting server:

        /etc/my.cnf
        /etc/mysql/my.cnf
        /usr/local/etc/my.cnf
        $MYSQL_HOME/my.cnf
        [datadir]/my.cnf
        ~/.my.cnf

    All of these locations are valid because they load cascading.

    The specific requirements for the wait_timeout and max_allowed_packet settings depends on server load and your common needs.

    If you can’t solve this issue – contact your hosting administrator or hosting support.

    Hello,

    The MySQL server has gone away (error 2006) has two main causes and solutions:

    • Server timed out and closed the connection. To fix, check that wait_timeout mysql variable in your my.cnf configuration file is large enough.
    • Server dropped an incorrect or too large packet. If mysqld gets a packet that is too large or incorrect, it assumes that something has gone wrong with the client and closes the connection. To fix, you can increase the maximal packet size limit max_allowed_packet in my.cnf file, eg. set max_allowed_packet = 128M,
      then restart your MySQL server: sudo /etc/init.d/mysql restart

    PS:
    my.cnf file – is a configuration file of MySQL database server on your web hosting.

    Try to solve the problem on their own.
