I apologize for this post. It looks like the Bootstrap MultiLanguage Gallery Plugin ( Augustech ) plugin was installed ( I didn’t think that I installed anything of the sort. The ‘Gallery’ link in my customize menu has always been there. Disabling this plugin allowed my images to work. It’s a basic image view now, which I can live with.
I’ll try and test out plugins for a better image viewing experience. I did note that this plugin was not compatible with the current install. I’m not sure why it was included.
