gotta change the permissions on the the directory/folder to 777 or something similar. Otherwise, edit the template localy and then upload it again

I have a similar issue. I want to output the list of pages using the wp_list_pages () in the sidebar.php but I don’t want to use it to output the title (i.e. Pages).
I just want to list the pages right underneath the categories as if they were one and the same… any ideas?

still don’t know what was wrong but I just reuploaded and re-upgraded and all went well….. weird..really weird…

a little update: I reuploaded the files 3 or 4 times and finally got to the update page. Went through the gigantic number of steps required ?? and when I was done, it tried to reconnect me to the index.php and I get this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: convert_bbcode() in /home/mind/public_html/wp/wp-includes/template-functions.php on line 23
