Yeah, I do. I’ve been using WP to upload images and it works fine via the web interface.

    But not with ecto.

As I have said: I’m not the only one with this problem with ecto (and other apps).

    Awesome April Fool’s joke. ??

I did go to this forum to check if it was real first, however. I had a feeling that something wasn’t Kosher, so I decided to check. ??

I take it by more silence that nobody has the answer to these questions? ??

Also one more thing: Would the cron job be the url with https:// in front of it, or just a relative path or something? IE:

    Cron: <path>/wp-admin/update-links.php

    Much appreciated.

    Thanks gregorsmith.

Couple questions though: Set a cron job to how often? Are we talking about every hour or so?

Also, will I need to put in the feed.php/atom.php/xml.rss/whatever address for each link? If not, how does it know? Does it automatically find/track it when the cron runs?

I’m also curious to know if it will */flag any updated blogs, and/or if this is customizable?

Options/misc…whodathunkit? It should be in the links manager options. ?? Not misc options. Heh.

Gonna set up a cron job now and thanks for the info so far.

I guess barely anyone was reading yesterday. ??

Is there no way to do this? I’m just curious. Am I missing something?

    Thanks. It’s what I figured.

A little clarification: I don’t keep my pictures etc in wp-content. I have another folder which is 777 (or was) to store them in. I organize them by month so it makes it easier. I’m organized. ??

But they managed to find it anyway. Obviously all you have to do is get info on a picture to see where it is stored. Not too hard to figure out.

I think I’ll just change permissions with my FTP program whenever I want to upload a pic. A pain in the butt, but only a 1 minute pain in the butt at best, I guess. It would be nice if somebody wrote some sort of program which, when logging in to post remotely or via web interface, that it would do that automatically for that post and reset it after the post was posted.

That’s just an idea I came up with now. But not a bad one I think? Although I’m not sure how exactly that would work.

    Thanks.

Yep, I’ve been using 1.5.2 since it came out. And thanks for the link for bugs. I’ll go check it out. Maybe somebody else mentioned it. I usually check this forum first because it always looks like major issues come up here first.

    Force of habit, I presume.

    I did.

They referred me to WP. They say that it’s a WP problem, not an Ecto problem. So, anyone working on it at WP? Just curious. I’d love for it to work. ??

Does anyone have some updated information on this problem? I use Ecto and it would be nice if WP did trackbacks with it. Right now, I have to do them by hand.

I’m fairly sure that there are a few hundred WP/Ecto users out there. Doesn’t this bother anyone else?

    Has a fix been posted?

Yeah! You tell him, serendipity! ??
Konqueror is awesome. I love it. And whether or not some people like it, I’d love to see the bookmarklet finally work with it. It would be nice. ??

    I’m not awkward…
Just because I don’t regularly visit CSS-oriented sites doesn’t make me unusual. Sheesh man…the web is for everyone – not just fancy CSS designers/coders. ??

    Not really.
I love Konqueror. I use it for about 90% of my browsing needs. ?? I don’t really go to “designy” sites all that often. Almost everything I read online comes from news sites. IE: CNN, BBC, Fox, MSNBC, The Atlantic, The New Yorker, NYT, WPO, MEMRI, WSJ, etc…. They all render very nicely in Konqueror and I don’t really have any problems with them whatsoever. ??

Root: Sorry again for not putting the credits back in. Thanks for pointing it out. ?? I completely forgot that I had placed a placeholder just for that but at 1am in the morning, I tend to forget all my logical plans on how to put everything in place. ?? Anyway, thanks for the layout because it’s what I needed. I just forgot exactly where I got it from at the time (though I saved a backup now on my local machine). ??
    RE: Tables.
I think I only used them for the top div to easily separate the contents up top. The problem I have with putting 4 divs up there is that I’d have a real pain in the butt of a time to get them just right when a table does the trick. It resizes automatically, I don’t have to put in a ton of unneeded code and the top never changes or expands beyond the confines of what it already has there.
If somebody wants to recode the top part without tables for me…be my guest. ?? I’m at a loss on how to do it correctly. So if you want to just send me the code for it with a set of divs instead of tables…I’m game. ?? And then, looking at it will tell me exactly how that should be done without tables next time, and we can avoid all this unpleasant table discussion… ??
