    Hi, @vytaulla51.

Thanks for using WooCommerce Product Tabs. I appreciate the details and links you’ve included, and I’m happy to help look into your concerns.

    (1) I’m using your plugin to add some extra tabs to different product pages, based on categories – that works fine. But then they show up on the Shop page, which I don’t want.
Is that problem solved by purchasing the Pro version of this plugin and using Tags instead of Categories? Or do I have to use another plugin?
Here is the “shop” page – at bottom is the z-product-tabs, which I don’t want to appear: https://staging5.vacationgear.com/rent/

Setting your custom product tabs’ Visibility to Show on specific categories does exactly that and doesn’t add/create them as a product category. The page on your website at https://staging5.vacationgear.com/rent/ appears to display a “Z-Product Tabs” product category for some reason. Have you somehow added/created this category?

    (2) Also, when creating additional tabs via categories, they end up in the breadcrumbs. Is there a way to remove them?
I have made the site accessible – here’s a page with the additional categories in the breadcrumbs:
    https://staging5.vacationgear.com/product/blanket-rental-twin-blanket-rental-single-bed-blanket-rental-beach-vacation-linen-rental-by-vacation-gear-rental/
The “z-product-tabs” is a parent category, “Linen Rentals” is a child of it – I don’t want either in the breadcrumbs.

This issue is related to the “Z-Product Tabs” product category on your website. The theme you’re using is displaying/including the product categories in the breadcrumbs. You can resolve this by either removing the “Z-Product Tabs” product category (if indeed unnecessary or not needed) or if the theme you’re using has an option to not display breadcrumbs. Either way, it is the theme that is displaying the breadcrumbs and not WooCommerce Product Tabs.

I hope the above helps. Please let me know how it goes.

    Best regards,
    Edge

Hi, Jean. Thanks for the update! I tried replicating the issue you reported, but it works fine for me when I tested it on my test site. It’s possible that what you are experiencing is a plugin or theme conflict.

    Here’s What You Can Do

    1. Could you please try using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin to run tests? This won’t impact regular website users. Use Troubleshooting Mode (Tools -> Site Health -> Troubleshooting). See this screenshot for guidance: https://prnt.sc/rTcOXne7WFRH.
    2. Back up your website and switch to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Twenty One. Deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce, WooCommerce Product Tabs, and the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. Check if this solves the issue, then reactivate the plugins one by one to identify the cause.

Please let me know how this goes.

Hi Jean, thank you for getting in touch. I’m sorry to hear you’re moving away from the plugin. The additional tabs are saved in WordPress as a cutom post type rather than a custom field. This means you can use your preferred import/export tool that works with custom posts. For example, if you use the built-in WordPress tool, you should see it in list of exportable data – https://share.zight.com/OAuZAdDR. The plugin does not come with a native import/export tool. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions. – Carl

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. Can I ask what exactly you want to do when you say “use shortcodes”? Are you trying to display the product tabs on different pages of your website? If so, this feature is not available in the plugin. The additional product tabs will always be displayed next to the standard product tabs.

If you are trying to do something else, please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you. – Carl

    Hi Anna,

Thank you for the post. I’d be happy to help you sort this out.

I checked both links and I can see the product tabs on each – https://share.zight.com/QwuoLWdK. Can you confirm if it’s working for you as well?

If you’re still having trouble, please contact us through our Support Center so that we can better assist you.

Hi Eva! Thanks for the suggestion about setting product tabs closed by default! I love the idea and we would be keen to explore adding this in the future. I have added it to our feature request list so that we can track the amount of demand. We will let you know if we add this to a future version of the plugin.?

In the meantime, I’m sorry that this isn’t possible. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Cheers! – Nikki

    Hi, @georgievlg.

Thank you for your patience. We have released version 2.1.4, which includes a fix for the issue that you reported experiencing.

Please could you update the plugin to this version on your website, and confirm whether it resolves the issue.

    After updating the plugin, I also recommend that you clear/delete/empty all/any caching that might be active;

    • On your site (i.e. via a caching plugin),
    • Its server (i.e. via a server-based caching service such as Cloudflare),
    • And your browser (you can also review the issue via an incognito/private browser window that’s not cached – or use a different browser as an alternative; i.e. if you usually use Chrome to browse your site, then use Edge or Opera).

Many thanks! I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,

    Hi there,

I’m sorrry as there was a mistake in my earlier reply. I checked with the developer and this is what I found.

The free version also allows the users to override the tab content in the product page. The difference with the Pro version is that it doesn’t allow overriding the icon. Both versions don’t allow adding a tab from the product screen page.

If a tab is not showing in the product screen page, there might be two reasons:

    • The tab doesn’t have the conditions to show on that product. (maybe it doesn’t have the correct category)
    • There might be a plugin conflict or error. Please check your Console and let us know if you see any issues.

    Cheers! – Keza

    Hi there,

Product-specific tabs are only available in the Pro-version. If you wish to edit your tabs and upload new info then you can do so via Products > Product Tabs. I appreciate you for raising this to us and I’d like to apologize for the confusion as there was no indicator the feature is not available in the free version. I’ve raised this to the developers so we can further improve the plugin.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Cheers! – Keza

    Hi, @carmen9ccw.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I tested the new version on my test site, but I could not replicate the issue you are experiencing.

    See image: https://prnt.sc/cP4IDiAsxTJe

It’s possible that a plugin or theme conflict has arisen with the recent update. To investigate this, you can initiate troubleshooting using a plugin called Health Check & Troubleshooting. This allows you to conduct tests without affecting the frontend, ensuring regular website users are unaffected.

To begin, back up your website and temporarily switch to the Storefront theme by Automattic. Then, deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce, WooCommerce Product Tabs, and the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. Proceed to check if this resolves the issue. Reactivate each plugin one by one to pinpoint the cause.

I hope this information is helpful. Please keep me updated on your progress.

    Best regards,
    Adrian
