this is now resolved, i found that when ever you viewed a page it logged you out aswell, i re-installed wordpress and it fixed all problems

I asked my host for how he fixed this issue and he kindly responded

in the config file for the website, located at /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/100-plantedtankuk.co.uk.vhost, I added the line:

FcgidMaxRequestLen 1073741824

in the <IfModule mod_fcgid.c> section.

I hope this helps anyone who has an issue with not being able to upload any images
