In reply to: How to fix an edited site URLSorry leejosepho, but I’m unable to see a standalone functions.php file.
My current hosting contains a few sub-domains and I’ve been looking in the relevant sub domain directory. There appears to be no reference to the theme or functions.php in the files in there?I think instead Imight try editing the wp-config.php file as suggested in ‘Changing the Site URL’, but I note that the can’t be edited on the General Settings page once back into the site?
Apologies for the ignorance; am I missing something here?

In reply to: How to fix an edited site URLThanks for the replies guys.
I’ve read through https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL
and decided to try to use ‘Edit functions.php’. However, the only functions.php file I seem to be able to locate is within wp-includes. Is this the right file to edit? The only other file I can see is ‘admin-functions.php’ within wp-admin.Forum: Themes and Templates

In reply to: How to ‘hide’ Header ImageThanks for that Steve, the only problem is that I’m currently (& unfortunately) quite ignorant regarding CSS. Is there any other option please?

In reply to: Different method of importing images?Hi again bemdesign
I’d got through most things, finding nothing untoward, and thinking of a reinstallation.
I then checked with my host company, and they suggested that:“this error is caused by mod_security blocking a potentially malicious upload. While it may be completely harmless, mod_security has no way of knowing if it is harmless or not.
Typically, the content in question is a file being uploaded which contains a special character such as a single or double quote within the file name which is often used by attackers to inject malicious scripts into websites.”
I checked, and had an apostrophe ‘s’ in the image name, changed it and hey presto, it uploaded!
My thanks again, and apologies for making what I now realise is a fairly basic error.

In reply to: Different method of importing images?Hi bemdesign, and thanks for the response.
I’ve disabled all plugins and switched to twenty fifteen, and tried again. It doesn’t load and just says ‘crunching’, so I’m assuming I follow the rest of your suggestions?

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] How to share stats? Thanks for this Ryan, it’s very instructive, especially as I’m quite a novice with WP.
What I was really asking though is regarding the stats available via ‘wordpress.com/stats’.
Ideally, I want to provide a client with stats relating to their site, but don’t want them going ‘behind the lines’ as it were. Can you make any suggestions for this please?
