    Oh…I did not realize that.
    Thanks.

@esmi, I am using a Genesis child theme called Jane. I (foolishly) did not backup before upgrading (though I usually do).

@bemdesign thank you for that information.

    Thank you for your response.

I like the idea of using a “throwaway” domain. However, what happens to the links when I change domains. For example if the domain is www.xyz.com and an post or page may be linked as www.xyz.com/boilegg – what happens when I change the domain to ourcity.com? Will the links all reflect the new domain (ourcity.com/boilegg)?

Can this be correct be a search and replace tool as referenced in the moving wordpress link your gave?

    Thanks

If it matters, I am using the default wp theme, Twenty Ten 1.2

Thank you for your help. I pasted the code into my test page and see no change. I am still having the same problem, where the images in column one are smashed/narrowed – in IE and not in FFox.

Since it’s in a private site, you won’t be able to see it without log in info. Here is the table code from one of my test pages.

    Thanks,

It’s working now. Was able to get help from hosting provider. It was a problem with the mysql.

I am also having the same problem as described above. While this seems like a silly question…I need to ask it anyway. How do I force the post? I can’t seem to “unschedule” the post. I can only change the status to draft, pending review or scheduled. None of these let’s me publish now.

    Thanks.

Apparently all the tags also went missing. ??

Here’s something else simple to check

Make sure your themes are not buried too deep in folders. I uploaded several themes to try out and got this same message. Turns out my folders were buried one folder to deep. Oops:)

For example within the “connections” folder is another folder also named connections. It is that folder you should upload, not the top level folder.

    Hi,

I can make new pages, but cannot access them – that is when I get the 404.

I can edit previously made pages and I can view them without problems.

If it is an .htaccess file problem, why would it change?

    bcp (still and for always….learning)

Hmmm…okay. But why just from one blog and not from any of the others?

Still cannot make a new page on this one particular blog. Everything else is working as above.

    Anyone else?

    Thanks,

Well, I plugged my urls into the validator and YIKES! I’m not even sure what all this means.

I’ve not changed the templates (I don’t really understand CSS or php and only know enough html to be dangerous). On one blog it seems that just my typing has produced errors.

And nothing comes up for the errors I get between browsers with the contact me plugin. Hmmm…

Thank – this is not going to be as easy as I thought.
