Wayne, That took care of getting the emails out of gmail and creating posts. Thanks.

I did get this after the emails were pulled. I’m not sure where to find or how to do what is in this instruction:

An unauthorized message has been sent to Indy Exterior Clean.

    Sender: [email protected]

    Subject: Security alert

If you wish to allow posts from this address, please add [email protected] to the registered users list and manually add the content of the email found below.

Otherwise, the email has already been deleted from the server and you can ignore this message.

If you would like to prevent postie from forwarding mail in the future, please change the FORWARD_REJECTED_MAIL setting in the Postie settings panel

The original content of the email has been attached.

The video was a great help. Thanks!

Maybe in future versions that style of ticker could be included as one of the standards.

I do like that the ticker now repeats rather than traveling the screen before repeating and the little fade in thing for the whole ticker is not a bad thing.

Just freaked me out that I couldn’t get it without setting all those options – since this is what the customer wants.

I have not tried to use the reCAPTCHA again. Right now I don’t have time to troubleshoot something that I may not need and that may break my site again.
When it was active, I got an email for verification, when I clicked to verify it went to the login screen, which had a verification message, but when I clicked to log in… nothing at all happened. Zip – no errors, no login, nothing.

    That’s all I have, sorry.

I did the FTP thing and turned off the plugin. Then I was able to log in again. I then used WP-Optimize to remove all the old WF database tables. Then I turned WF back on and reconfigured it WITHOUT ReCaptcha. Up and running again.

    Obviously some issues in WF.

Cache cleared, accepts cookies. Still logs in, dashboard shows up, then just spins when try to edit something. Only on these 2 machines.

    Any other ideas?

I have refreshed the theme cache and browser caches each time, just to be sure and I have no cache software running yet on the site. I am not on a managed WordPress site (on Media Temple DV server) so no background server caching going on. I have also reset permalinks.

It is on a page in WPBakery Page builder. It is set to use the Gravity forms login page widget. When I use the TML shortcode on its own (in a text container on the same page) I get the same failure.

I have been trying a lot of things to get it to come back. It was working OK with 6.4, with security ON (I think). Then we had the brute force attempt and I updated to TML 7 (forgot to turn off security). I removed the security issue from the database (per your instructions), but the issues with logins persist when we try to use TML (now back at 6.4). Accepts the UN, but rejects the PW. Using /wp-admin or /wp-login.php I can login fine. I have replaced wp-login.php with a clean version (just in case). Could there be another database artifact that is blocking something in TML?

I can get you a copy of the database if that will help. This site REQUIRES that I be able to keep registered users out of the back end of the site. I’m getting a bit frantic at this point.

I appreciate your help. I am shooting in the dark on a lot of this.

I downloaded the last version of TML 6.4 and I am getting the same results. None of the additional options are checked, just the out-of-the-box plugin

    Jeff,

The only way can log in properly is using wp-admin to access the login screen. If I use just domain.com/login, the password does not work when TML is turned off or on.

    With TML OFF

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/4xn27oonk0hzfu6/tml-off2.PNG?dl=0

With TML ON – note difference in login form styling

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/39inz6sj62tzpt1/tml-on2.PNG?dl=0

If I use domain.com/wp-admin, or domain.com/wp-login.php, I can successfully log in.

Is there a place I can get a download of PRE 7.0 TML so I can install it and see if that might remedy the issues? Perhaps I can use the pre 7.0 version to reset everything, then upgrade.

    Thanks,

    Sam

    I deleted the record.
    I deleted the plugin.
    I reinstalled the plugin.
    Activated the plugin.
    Will not recognize the password.

Only way to log in is the /wp-admin method. Password works fine as long as the plugin is off.
Are there more places in the database to fix?

Just delete the entire record? I did find it.

    (@beanthere22)

Can you give me a little bit more of a location target to find that stuff in the database? I just know enough about editing that stuff to be dangerous. I just want to get it right the first time.

    Thread Starter beanthere22

    (@beanthere22)

If it updated, I imagine it was by clicking update from the WP Plugins panel. We did not purchase any extensions.

    Thread Starter beanthere22

    (@beanthere22)

So my question still stands, how do I unlock it? If I remove the plugin, will it also remove the database data so that it will free up my login? If not, can you tell me where in the database to look to find what I need to remove manually?

I am locked out unless I use the link in the email or unless I turn off the plugin, so I still need to know how to get back to normal.

    Thanks
