In reply to: [Bigcommerce] API SettingWe have found and fixed a couple of connection issues in the version 1.5, which will be released very soon.
The first problem related to the URL. We were expecting the URL to be put in as
http(s)://www.mysite.com/
orhttp(s)://mystore.mybigcommerce.com/
(with or without the trailing slash) without the/api/v2/
at the end of the URL. Bigcommerce provides a URL on their API setting page, and that URL contains the/api/v2/
that will not work with version 1.4 of our Plugin. We have fixed this in version 1.5, so the URL can be entered in a variety of ways and still work. The second problem related to some web hosts not supporting cURL or SSL. We added detection that reports when one of these conditions are causing a connection problem. The Bigcommerce API requires SSL (secure) communications, so the web host must support these communications for the Plugin to work. These server packages are called
php-curl
andphp-openssl
, and modern web hosts usually include these already. Please let us know if you continue to experience any connection problems after applying these modifications or using version 1.5 or later of our Plugin. We’re here to help!

In reply to: [Benchmark Email Lite] [Plugin: Benchmark Email Lite] can this plugin:Hello!
1) The Plugin does not currently support uploading CSV data. We do have that listed as a roadmap item to address in the future. However, if you have a paid account with Benchmark Email, you can use their fully featured web interface (ui.benchmarkemail.com) to upload data in just about any format.
2) Thanks to your request, we now have a high priority roadmap item to allow for the Read More link to be placed within the emailed content, triggered automatically based on the existence of the Read More separator within the post content.

In reply to: [beCounted] [Plugin: beCounted] Custom CountHello! beCounted does let you change the statistic(s) whenever you want to, so you could do so on a weekly basis. The statistic is a rate (# per year) that represents how quickly the counter should tick while the user stares at it.
For example, if there were 6,586,000 Apple computers shipped last year, entering that number will count the number of Apple computers shipped since you opened the web page, representing a naively forecasted quantity based on the previous year statistic.
That concept could be related to artwork sales, but you would have to sell a large quantity in order for the counter to tick within a reasonable wait for the user. It may be helpful to think about any large statistics that you could use.

In reply to: [beCounted] [Plugin: beCounted] Are yearly or forever counts possible?Hi Bike,
We will consider the idea of enhancing the counter to be more of a realtime level based on known statistics for a date range. For now, the counter measures seconds, beginning from zero, and counting infinitely based upon the rate indicated in the annual occurrences per second entered. The idea is to see how many theoretical occurrences would be taking place while you are viewing the counter so you can appreciate the magnitude of the statistics.
What you can do with the current counter is convert to the best looking statistic. For example, 10k miles per year equates ~1.67 feet per second. 1.67 ticks per second would look nice on the screen, so you would enter the number 52,800,000 (that’s 5280 feet per mile times 10,000 miles) and call it “Feet I’m Bicycling” with a footer stating something to the effect of “Based on my bicycling pace of approximately 10,000 miles per year from last year’s measurements.”
Thanks for your ideas and do let us know if you have others for us!
