In reply to: Migrating blog IMAGES to brand new wordpress site / databaseOh my goodness, thank you SO much. This is exactly what I needed to find out. I actually just ended up copying within my server, (both are hosted on the same one) the wp-contents from my old website database to the new website database folder. Then I just used the Velvet Blues plugin to update all my links and it worked like a charm.
Next I’ll try the htaccess trick. Thanks!

In reply to: Have to click page twice before it redirects to correct URLNothing found in the default config file. Will search database.
Should I remove the wp-config-sample.php? Could that be junking things up?

In reply to: Have to click page twice before it redirects to correct URLYeah: here’s how I went about transferring it, since I was working with a really wacky server on the front end. (1&1 hosting)
1) logged into wp-admin of dev server and updated the site address under the settings for the new domain address
2) exported my dev wordpress mysql database using the control panel/phpmyadmin to a local .SQL file
3) imported database using that .SQL file to new server via phpmyadmin
4) transferred wp files from dev to new server, updating the wp-config file with new database settings
I might go back and check the config file to make sure I got it all right.
The reason I did not change the WordPress address is because when I do that, it locks me out of the site and I have to go back into myphpadmin and change it back.

In reply to: Have to click page twice before it redirects to correct URLWordPress address (URL) is the same URL that the original site was created on (which was another server)
Site address (URL) is the new domain URLI have not hard coded any URLs into files.
I’m guessing it’s something to either do with something in the files, or myphpadmin.
I just tried changing the Site URL in wordpress, and that did not work, so I had to go to myphpadmin to change it back.

In reply to: Really need help: Stuck on "Unpacking the package…"Great. …And just to make sure, should this just be saved as a txt file, then I remove the extension when I put it in the root folder, or should I save it as a .php?

In reply to: Really need help: Stuck on "Unpacking the package…"There’s no .htaccess file anywhere. So should I create a new one and enter just the code you mentioned above?

In reply to: Deleting ALL photos from WP galleryAlright forgive me if this sounds silly, but I’m in the media library and I don’t see any way to bulk select.
