I’m truly sorry for the misunderstanding.
If you’d like to give IA another try, we could help restore the database tables from a backup and make further attempts to resolve the issue with the dashboard not displaying correctly. It would be best to continue that conversation over email rather than here.
It sounds like the report settings were exported, which are used for copying report settings to other sites, but not for backing up your data (this option here). I meant that the database tables need to be exported and imported from the database, and I could have made that clearer.
If you have a recent backup of your site, the analytics data will be there, and the tables could still be re-imported to restore your data.
I didn’t think my response here would be controversial. I’m only stating what happened. Here is a screenshot of exactly what I said previously: https://d.pr/i/YyvS5i
Deleting the plugin and re-installing it may have resolved the issue so I proposed that first. Otherwise, the data could be deleted and re-imported. I said this is a technical process and offered to do it for you. I should have clarified that the database tables in particular need to be exported/imported, but I thought this was implied. It sounds like something else was exported, but I’m not sure what. The plugin has options for exporting data to CSV and PDFs, but not an option to export or import the database tables.
I’m sorry for the issue that was breaking the analytics dashboard display. We have only seen this on one other site and had trouble recreating it and were not provided with debugging info we could use.
As for the data loss, our recommendation was to export the data, and then reset the plugin and re-import the data. We offered to complete this process for you, as it can be quite technical. If you have the exported database tables, it is still possible to import them.
Hi Bjarne,
We’ve tested IA with WP 6.7 and can confirm that it is running without issue.
I’m sorry to hear that didn’t work.
Could you reach out to us at [email protected]? We need to discuss some sensitive site details that can’t be posted publicly here.
Thank you!
Hi Michal,
Thanks for your feedback on this.
We’re in a tricky situation here, and I don’t think we’ll be able to move the config file out of this location. In order to track clicks, we’re using a PHP endpoint that runs without WordPress. This allows clicks to be recorded without loading WP for each click, which would be terrible for performance. Since this endpoint needs some info like if the Pro version is installed, the config file is created so the endpoint can read from it. The issue is that the config file needs to be in the same folder so that the endpoint knows where to find it.
When we released 2.9, we had both files in the uploads folder, but we had issues with that folder being executable and the files being misidentified as malware, so we moved them into the plugins folder instead. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be anywhere we can add these files that they will be reliably writable and executable, given the variety of WP environments. With that said, the plugins folder has been the more reliable option so far.
Is it possible for you to make the
independent-analytics-pro
folder writeable for your sites, while keeping the rest of the plugins directory unwritable? As for it causing issues with other plugins on the site, could you let me know more about that? We can resolve any conflicts that may be created with other plugins.
Thank you for trying that. Can you try deleting the following folder: wp-content/plugins/independent-analytics-pro/template-cache
The files in that folder will regenerate themselves the next time the Analytics menu is viewed.

In reply to: [Mission News] Broken layout on mobileI’m sorry to hear about this error. It looks like this may be due to an optimization coming from a performance plugin. Can you try disabling any CSS optimizations and then clear the cache? I think this will get the styles to show up on mobile again.
Hi there,
Thanks for getting in touch. I’m sorry to hear about this error.
Could you try deleting and then re-installing Independent Analytics? Doing so won’t remove any of your analytics data. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, please try temporarily deactivating the other plugins on your site and see if this helps. If it resolves the error, you can reactivate each one of the plugins until the error returns to find where the conflict is coming from.
I’m so glad to hear it’s working well for you! Thanks for your feedback on the new design.
Version 2.9 is available now and will resolve this issue once your site updates.
Hi Salih,
We just released version 2.9 for all users, which includes accessibility enhancements for the date picker. It should be much easier to navigate via keyboard now, but please let me know if there are any issues.
Hi @fesarlis,
We looked into this and it is more complex than we initially expected. If the filters are used on a page like https://mysite/category-books, then in the Pages report, you’ll see views for that taxonomy page. Even if there are filters applied, we realized that this is still the correct page to show. The visitor is viewing that taxonomy page, and the filters are an additional form of data. We’re not sure how to display filter data yet, and we’d like to create a solution that works well for all filtering plugins, not just the Filter Everything plugin. We may need to add new columns into the Pages report, or maybe create an entirely new report for showcasing which filters are used and how often. It’s something we have to research further before we can provide a comprehensive solution.
Got it, thank you!
I am able to recreate this bug in version 2.8.9, and can confirm it is resolved in version 2.9.0. We are releasing this update to everyone over the next 24 hours, so you will see the update notification in your Plugins menu soon.
