Found it!

By disabling this, logging in via PA Modal login started working again, but I don’t really understand why this problem has cropped up now. The site has been running perfectly fine for at least 3 years, and the “I’m a human” checkbox has never appeared on the modal login.

Oh dear. Now that I have Shield running again we are unable to log in (had to add the forceoff file). Doing this lets us log in, but “Click here to automatically delete this file” and then trying to log in again gives “Wrong Username or Password!”.

Note that this is using PA Modal Login plugin: if I try logging in using ‘normal’ /wp-login.php it does work… but this isn’t part of the user experience.

I’m trying to work around this now, but need to ask a question: where do I find the settings that enables/disables the “I’m a human” checkbox during login? (I can never find it!)

Thanks. It wasn’t any of the plugins, but switching to one of WP’s standard themes removed the issue. I’ve now re-enabled Shield and switched back to our theme. This is an in-house, custom theme, which is the basis of all our sites, so I’m not sure why it should have been causing an issue on this site.

How the **** do I get rid of this **** message? It appears on every page (even appearing as a sort of ‘ghost’ image before everything else loads), and I can’t get rid of it: click the ‘x’ and it disappears while on that page, but the minute you go somewhere else it appears again!!!!!!!

Thanks, but never mind… I have it working now. The settings are a little more fiddly than suggested in the docs, and a fair bit of trial and error was involved.

OK, it’s semi-working:

By default only ‘cookielawinfo-‘ cookies load. I can click ‘Accept’ and all cookies load.

If I then click ‘Cookie settings’ and disable my ‘Social’ category, only *some* of the AddThis cookies disappear: __atuvc and __atuvs remain (loc and uvc disappear).

If I disable my ‘Analytics’ category, *all* of the GA cookies remain: _ga, _gid and _gat_gtag_UA_XXXXXXX_XX

It’s obviously misleading to give users the impression they’re disabling cookies when they’re not!

As far as I can tell, everything’s set up correctly. For example, the GA script is in Head Scripts field of the _ga item in the Cookie List… but it never fires. The AddThis script is on every page (not via the plugin) but none of the AddThis cookies load whatever settings I choose.

(I am using this plugin on several other sites, so I’m not sure what the problem is here.)

This plugin is simply not working: Reject doesn’t work, nor does disabling e.g. non-necessary cookies as described above.

When will it be fixed?

Can’t get this to work.

AWS won’t let me put s3:HeadBucket anywhere – says “Policy has invalid action” if I try to add it to first list of actions. If I configure as above it says “Missing required field Principal”: if I then add that (to the 2nd “Effect” block) it says “The policy contains invalid Json”.
