In reply to: I want to remove white space between images in sidebarFollow up – I notice that the problem doesn’t occur in Thesis 2.x.x, so I’ve just decided to use that instead.
So I guess it’s resolved!

In reply to: I want to remove white space between images in sidebaroops, the “br” didn’t show up as it was in greater than / less than brackets. What I meant is that initially I had done a br after each image, and now there is no br, they are just wrapped.

In reply to: Spacing between paragraphs in main blog entriesFantastic, that fixed it. I still can’t use < br> (without the space) to add extra lines, but this is quite livable.
Thanks tugbucket.
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Uploaded 2.3.1, now I am “unauthorized”OK, well I don’t know what was causing it, but it’s sorted now. I switched over to a linux plan with my hosting provider, then did a fresh install, and it’s all going fine.

In reply to: Uploaded 2.3.1, now I am “unauthorized”One final thing to add: I’ve now deleted the wordpress directory from the server, so the only message that will show up now is “not found,” while I try to figure this out.

In reply to: Uploaded 2.3.1, now I am “unauthorized”Just a note: here is what I have checked: As this is now a fresh install I’m doing, I have checked that the username and password in wp-config-sample.php are the same as the username and password for the SQL database on my server. I have also checked that the database still exists on the server and that it is the right one.

In reply to: Backup failedI am having this error as well.
HOWEVER, I perfectly understand what it means. I have checked where the backup directory is supposed to be (wp-content/backup), and I have made CERTAIN that the permissions are set exactly right (777), but I keep getting this message. The plugin is not realising that it has permission to write to the backup folder.
Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening? I have the latest version of the plugin.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [RELEASE] WP-phpMyAdmin pluginI have just installed the latest vesion of WordPress. Then I downloaded and installed this plugin. It activated fine, but then when I try to use it under the “manage” tab, I get this “Not Found” error: https://www.beretta-online.com/error.jpg
I appear to be doing everything right. Site = https://www.beretta-online.com, blog address = https://www.beretta-online.com/wordpress
Any suggestions?

In reply to: Welcome post won’t updateOK… after a lot of searching and experimenting… I am slowly being able to edit the content of the page by editing each of the relevant files within the default folder…. phew!
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Welcome post won’t updateOK, this is getting crazy. I replaced the index.php with the original one I downloaded in the wordpress zip file, and now it displays up to date. But WHAT THE? I now cannot change the appearance of it.
I have edited the style.css to what I want, but the page is trying to put all the imnages in, and I don’t want any images in at all, I want the appearance to be determined solely by the style.css file.
What document do I need to edit and upload to change the content of what I see on my blog: the list of blog names on the side (I want to delete them), the instructions on what images to include etc. In other words, when I view the front page of my blog, https://www.beretta-onlne.com/wordpress/ , and view the source code – what document is providing all that code? I want to edit that document to cut out all the images and extra formatting I don’t want. Thanks fo any advice.

In reply to: Welcome post won’t updateAnd as a further update – have now added categories that are also not showing up. It’s as though what I’m seing on the screen is not connected at all to the stuff that I’m editing. But there’s only one index.php so I don’t know where else to look for it.

In reply to: Welcome post won’t updateAs an update, I have also noticed that when I click on the new post I have written in the admin section, I can read it, but the preview window itself still shows the original post, and not the new one. Weird…
