  • Hi there,

If you want to display products from different categories on a page, you’ll need to use the [products] specifying the wanted category in the “category” parameter.

Here you can read more about this: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shortcodes/#section-10

Awesome! I’m happy to hear that!

As everything seems ok now, I’m going to mark this thread as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Thanks,
    Bernat

I have tried installing from backend. In that case, I get an error while activating the plugin. I’ll see if I can contact the hosting provider and get some help!

Are you getting the same error? If so, this would confirm that the issue is related to the permissions of the folders in your WordPress install.

Please check it with your hosting team and let us know if they’re able to fix it for you.

    Thanks,

    Hi there,

Installation failed: Could not copy file. woocommerce/vendor/composer/installers/src/Composer/Installers/ElggInstaller.php

This seems an issue related to the permissions of these files. I’d suggest you to reach your hosting support team to see if they can help you from their side.

Additionally, you can also try to install the plugin from the backend (Plugins>Add New) to see if it solves the issue.

    Thanks,

    Hi Bhaskar,

When using the product_category shortcode in the end result the title is not Clickable of the product.

By default, this shortcode renders a list of products where all its elements (image, title, price,…) are clickable and forward the customer to the product page.

If this isn’t happening in your case, I suspect that your theme or some of your active plugins can be affecting the default behavior of this shortcode.

The best way to find the origin of the issue is to switch to a default theme like Storefront and disable all the active plugins except WooCommerce to see if the issue is fixed. If that’s the case, you just need to reactivate the disabled plugins one by one and reload the Checkout page to check if the issue reappears. You’ll know the culprit plugin when you reactivate one and the problem reappears.

Of course, I’d suggest you to perform this test on a staging version of your site (you can use “WP Staging” plugin to create one quickly).

is it necessary to click on “download require login” or should I leave it blank?

This is an optional feature that you can enable if you want to require your customers to log in, in order to be able to download these files. If you don’t check this option, the customers will be able to download the files after purchasing them without the need of logging in to your site.

I will be selling downloadable product. so in shipping what should I choose?

If you only sell downloadable products that don’t require any shipment, I’d suggest you to edit your products and set them to “Downloadale” and “Virtual”. This way, they won’t require any shipping (and you don’t need to enable any shipping methods in WooCommerce>Settings>Shipping).

what is Payment Authentication Requested Email?
and how to replace the [email protected] email from the desired email ID permanently?

This email notification is sent to a customer when a renewal fails because the transaction requires an SCA verification. The email contains renewal order information and payment links.

In your screenshot I see that the admin notifications are being sent to [email protected]. If you want to send them to a different address, you just have to click on each of these admin notifications in this page and change the email address in its settings (in the “Recipient(s)” field).

By default, this is the administration email address that is added in Settings>General.

why is Customer invoice / Order details not marked?
is it automatically? or do I need to correct it?

The “Customer invoice / Order details” is marked different in this page because it is a manual email notification that is only sent to the customers when you request this action from the orders actions selector (in the order editor page).

This is the expected behavior and there’s no way by default to automate it (unless you use a plugin like the one I mentioned before).

    Hi there,

By default, when customers purchase any kind of producthttps://woocommerce.com/products/pdf-invoices/, WooCommerce sends an email notification to them with the order details (receipt). This happens even if the products are marked as virtual and downloadable.

WooCommerce doesn’t send invoiced by default, but you can do it manually by running the “Email invoice / order details to customer” action from the order actions dropdown selector (in the order editor page). This action will send a similar email notification to the customer but with an invoice instead of the order details.

As I said in my previous message, if you need something more advanced or you want to send PDF invoices to your customers automatically, you could use a plugin like: https://woocommerce.com/products/pdf-invoices/

In any case, please mind that the download link that is included in these emails doesn’t show the full URL of the downloadable file, as it is using a download page with a security code to validate and generate the downloads.

    Hi Sophie,

In order to be able to get support for these plugins, you or your client will need to have an active subscription of them.

If you don’t have one, I also understand that you’re not running the latest versions of these plugins, so I’d suggest you renew your license to be able to update them first to check if the issue is solved in the latest versions.

If the problem persists, please submit a new support ticket in WooCommerce.com > My Account > Support and we’ll continue our investigation from there.

    Thanks,

    Hi there,

You can easily create a downloadable product marking the “Downloadable” option in the product settings. This will make you able to link any wanted downloadable files to your product.

Once a customer purchases these products, WooCommerce grants permission to these files for that customer.

WooCommerce also masks the URL of the download links that are sent to the customer to prevent them from sharing the real URL of the file with other customers.

Please check this page to learn more about this: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/digital-downloadable-product-handling/

Also, if the “force download” option isn’t working, make sure that you configure your server to prevent it from rendering readable files like txt or pdf’s on the browser window instead of downloading them, as this would reveal the file URL.

    I hope it helps!

    Hi there,

By default, this isn’t possible, as the {{order.items}} is designed to display all the products.

If you want to change its behavior, I suggest you to use a custom variable instead:
    https://automatewoo.com/docs/variables/custom-variables/

    Hi there,

Could you please share us the URL of that page to take a deeper look at it and be able to inspect its CSS to see what needs to be done to fix it?

    Thanks,

    Hi there,

I think that we’ll need to take a deeper look at this from our side to get a better understanding of what is happening.

    Hi there,

Before diving deeper into this issue, I suggest you to do a quick test to confirm if these email notifications are being sent or if there are some issues with them.

    1. Go to WooCommerce>Settings>Emails and make sure that the wanted email notifications are enabled there.
    2. Install and activate WP Mail Logging plugin.
    3. Place a new order in your site (or wait for a new real order from your customers)
    4. Go to Tools>WP Mail Log page and check if the expected notification has been logged there.

If it has been logged without any errors, it means that it has ben sent from your site, and I’d suggest you to check if it landed in the SPAM folder or reach your hosting support to see if there are any problems with the server’s mail queue.

If there are some errors logged next to this notification, it will mean that something is preventing WooCommerce from sending it. Please check these errors to see if you can get more details about what is happening. If they are coming from a specific plugin, you should try to disable it temporarily and repeat the test to see if the notifications are sent.

    Thanks,

    Hi there,

Not all the text strings in the WooCommerce email notifications are customizable from the backend.

There are different options to customize these emails and their content. Please take a look at this article to see which option would fit your needs in a better way: https://woocommerce.com/posts/how-to-customize-emails-in-woocommerce/

    I hope it helps!

    Thanks,

    Hi there,

Thanks for providing us more details!

I’ve taken a look at your product page but I can see the sidebar, as expected, next to the product information.

    Perhaps you already solved it?
