Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: How to assign my WordPress page as my domain indexThere are two parts in a WordPress installation: the files and the database. To move your site from yourdomain.com/wordpress to wordpress you need to do two steps:
1. move ALL the file and folders that are in the wordpress folder to yourdomain.com
2. make the necessery changes in the database so all links are changed from yourdomain.com/wordpress to yourdomain.com. I have an article on my site that will help you with that part. If you read here: https://ladywp.com/get-your-site-content-and-files-after-domain-expiration-2/ starting at step 2 you should be able to figure it out.

In reply to: Blank Screen in WP AdminI agree with Chris. You are installing WordPress 3.3.1 while we’re all already on WP 3.9.1. That’s a lot of vulnerabilities that could put your site at risk.
Don’t rely on softwares like Fantastico or Softaculous to install WordPress and try to learn how to do it yourself. it’s really not that difficult.
You can find the steps in the codex on this site here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress#Famous_5-Minute_Install

In reply to: my wordpress post shows up in search enginesYou’re talking about a post you made here that you do not want to show up in the search engines when you do a search for your site name, correct? You don’t have the power of that. You could remove your link from that post or get the post removed from the forum completely, but that’s about it.

In reply to: help with installationHi Becky,
After you download it, you have the choice to either unzip it and upload it to your hosting via an FTP program, or you can keep it zipped up, log into your cpanel over at Bluehost and look for the File Manager. Upload the zipfile you downloaded and then extract it there once it’s finished.
Then you need to create a database and user and start the rest of the installation process.
This is the official page with instructions: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_WordPress#Famous_5-Minute_Install
I have a step by step process on my own site, which I created because my subscribers didn’t find the official one easy to follow: https://ladywp.com/install-wordpress-quick-easy-and-secure/

In reply to: WP Post Editor Page Messed UpIf deactivating the plugins and moving to a default theme didn’t work, my next step would be to reupload the WordPress files.

In reply to: blog transfer- permalinks not workingHave you tried resaving the permalinks? Just go to Settings >> Permalinks and save the setting you want. In most cases that fixes the problem.
Yes, the new version works perfectly so far. Thank you ??
