Problem solved.
I had entered a couple of slugs to just use this TOC on a few pages, but this was before I figured out how easy the Easy Table of Contents Plugin works – I can either pre- approve and then exclude on the page or the inverse.
I deleted the slugs and the page rendered as wished.

Update on my own dilemma. Max Mega Menu now toggles. I looked through the active plugins; and what did I find activated. JETPACK
I have never activated this, it must be part of the new upgrade.
I deactivated it and refreshed my page, and the toggle menu works.

Oh, and if anyone else has any hints let me know. This has worked in the past and now does not.
The only change has been I redid default front page with responsive table plugin.

OK, the accordion description does not take text from the wordpress editor and leave it formatted as I would wish.
The html is gone from most of the text tab of the wordpress editor these days, except for tables or bullets or actual html for media; what is the answer here? what am I missing?
Do I have to use a separate html editor to pick up
etc?

I don’t know but am too lazy and indolent to test further. You would have to give me an inspiring speech to proceed further. I did deactivate easy Fancybox and that did not solve it. I am just ready to accept that WP has a new feature to remind me to save often.
The exact same behavior is in both macro edit and the small edit window and the regular find and replace function returns- no window box and apparition- as soon as I update from either editing window.

I have solved this aggravation! As soon as I leave the full screen edit and I update my work, the regular crtl-f box appears. If I have not saved my work, the centered box for find and replace appears with its opaque apparition… I just have to save my work to get rid of it. Interesting. Is someone purposely coding WP for personality quirks?

I have resolved this.
I finally figured out that blog.stulangley.com was a redirect and the actual directory was in another higher domain. (not something I created but created for me in another’s domain)
So I went back to my password list- read it over- found the lost notes which I would have had if I had paid attention or had a memory- and then off to FILEZILLA – into the directory structure as per the first post and finally found the Google talk back plug-in and deleted the directory…
AND ALLS well that ends with your website working again.

Unfortunately, I have no functionality in admin- in the dashboard- nothing works from there- it just sits there with a blank page like it is waiting for something to happen.
Is there some way to deactivate plugins without access to the dashboard?
