It appears on my front page in the sidebar and I want it gone. Please assist.

Everytime I try to edit anything on this page the whole thing screws up. The Background graphics for the sidebars go away, the quote bubble image disappears, the posts overlap, and I ALWAYS have to go back and re-download the vita template and replace the stylesheet entirely. Why are my posts overlapping? Why can’t I get a frame around my images like I used to? Why isn’t anything I’m doing working? Is there any way I can show YOU the style sheet so you can make the (few) necessary adjustments because this is driving me crazy.

Thank you for your help thus far. I also wanted to know how to change the font/color/etc of the “Posted on/Posted By” text on the front of my page. When I view my page in internet explorer it looks fine, but when I view it in firefox, the “Posted on/Posted by” text is in all black and there is no separating underline. Why is this?

I read this FAQ. It does not say where to put the code which is why I asked this question. WHERE do I put the code? In the Main index? Function file? And can I place multiple special text boxes throughout my theme’s front page? Thank you.

I just read that there is a way that I can place special text boxes on my front page (instead of my post). How do I do this? And by that I mean, where do I insert the CSS code if it is needed.

Thank you for your continued help, I have found great results with your words of wisdom but I have another question.

Now that the excerpts work, there are no pictures on my front page. How do I place the picture (from the actual post) next to the excerpt?

The plugin in question is the wpexcerpt plugin provided to me by Peter.

The site displays the content in full, however underneath lies the excerpt. I just want the excerpt, a picture, and the read more quote to be displayed on my front page. How do I fix this?

It appears that the <?php bloginfo(‘description’); ?> tagline is already inserted in my header file. Do I have to modify the ‘description’ part? The tagline is still absent.

Thanks for the reply. I have successfully removed the backgorund. Now I just want to know how to show my tagline. Also, there is a “V” icon (favicon) in the browser next to “http”. How do I remove this? After this I’ll be up and running. Thanks for all your help!
