In reply to: New Theme, looking for feedbackWhat EKC said.
Fonts look like 16pt at least on 1680×1050 resolution. Don’t like the font itself 2.
I would change the gradient background 2. It’s not gradual enough and the color are to different. Start with a lighter blue or make it more gradual.

In reply to: Review of websiteThe glossy black backgrounds on the titles of the posts and widgets (and menu) is really putting me off.
The glossy gray menu bg and the gray gradiant on the header I don’t like as well.
Change the colors to something lighter and not glossy and it would be a big improvement imo.

In reply to: Could I make a blog that looks like vimeo's homepage?Could this be done on wordpress?
Yes.
If you have to ask, you prob. can’t do it yourself.
Use Gimp if you’re looking for a more powerful and free alternative.
I’ve just opted to send the email after I confirm the invitation.

In reply to: WordPress or joomlaWP is the easiest to use, by far. It has a lot of features, especially with all the plugins and has the most themes. So it’s easy to pick up and customize.
Drupal is for big complex sites where you need total control. You won’t find much themes online, it’s a do it yourself cms :p But really powerful.
Joomla, meh, don’t like it.

In reply to: [Mingle Forum] [Plugin: Mingle Forum] The official site is down? Need skinsI’ve uploaded my slightly modified dark skin for you.
It’s hosted on megaupload. I’ve only changed the background image for some of the title bars and navigation bars.

You need to put in a folder called “mingle-forum-skins” inside the wp-content folder. Create the folder if mingle hasn’t created it for you.
Hope it helps.

In reply to: [Theme My Login] Remove Personal Options in User ProfileI could remove that part by editing profile-form.php in the theme-my-login template directory.

In reply to: Unwated Ads on my siteFree templates often have crap in them, potentially harmful, like ads and hidden links and what not.
You manually edit the php pages it has and search for the code, links, text, … and edit them out, replace or remove it.
Some encrypt their crap, others has dodgy code in it breaking your template if you change it.
My advise would be to delete the theme and download it from the creators website or from www.ads-software.com.

In reply to: Registration w/out sending passwordYou can use Register Plus Redux to do this. You might have to take a look at this https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/register-plus-redux-emails-wrong-password?replies=4 if it’s not working out of the box (I had to).
