I didn’t resolve it, Fritz. I had to go in a different direction for other reasons. BTW, Cais, DesktopServer is based on xampp; it simplifies WordPress admin.

And it probably won’t work unless you leave the Text Domain blank.

Hi Cais. Thank you much. I decided that what works best for my application is the gallery shortcode, taking advantage of the HTML capability of the caption field (post title, desc. and link), and the columns field. After your reply, I tried the caption template, but it seemed at odds with the columns field.

I’m using localhost. I managed to get upload_max_filesize up to 100M but still got an error. May go back to DesktopServer for my localhost environment with which I’ve had no problems. It’s probably not a photocrati issue, so I’ll close this. It’s still odd that nextcellent loads okay. I appreciate your responsiveness.

Thank you for the quick reply. Presently, there’s not even a nextgen-gallery folder. I tried a manual install and got this:

The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini

That file has this: upload_max_filesize = 2M
I’ve tried changing this to 20M, but it’s reset on restart. I guess there’s a trick…a setting elsewhere.

The one-and-only content owner wants it that way. The user must create an account and log in; the download pages are blocked otherwise.

You may use tags instead of the id, also, as illustrated in the FAQ.
