Fantastic – especially compared with the other crap advice out there!

I reckon I’ve done 20 wordpress installations without any problems, including three on the one server. I’t’s only with WP 2.6.2 that I’ve had this problem. 2.6 is OK. I’m reverting to the server based wordpress install – 2.3 and maybe I’ll try to upgrade from there, but it’s really frustrating having to do all the chmod, .htaccess etc and get nowhere.

It would be nice if someone of superior knowledge could post the most likely causes and the best fixes for each.

Me too. I’ve been researching this, because I’m trying to convert a really content rich academic site to WordPress. There’s a lot of info and some of the titles are long.

I’ve figured out what the problem is, but I don’t know how to fix it.
In the edit post screen there are supposed to be two tabs:

Visual
Code

There are no tabs visible and it defaults to “Code” since I have upgraded.

Can anyone help?

Thanks John, but what I mean is that in wp 2.0, when you uploaded an image into a post, you could see the physical image. Since my upgrade, I can’t see it when I am editing.
I think I’ve missed something in the installation.

I’ve got the same problem as Iansdell, and while mudbomb’s wysiwyg editor looks fantastic, it’s overkill for what I need. Where do you get the insert/edit image dialog box plugin that comes with blogs hosted by wordpress.com?
