Yes, you should manipulate the code in Style.css.
Reduce the width of #right_col (and also reduce the width of elements like search bar etc which are in right column)
Increase the width of #left_col (and adjust the width of inner elements accordingly)

In style.css in #content ,change float:right to float:left .

If u have used the same code in all sidebar(php files) try changing the variable names if there are any.

change css to

#menu ul li a:hover {
color:#000; /*balck color(change to ur color*/
}
#header a:hover {
color:#000; /*balck color*/
}

Try to reduce the #content width to less than 500 #sidebar and
#content together should be less than or equal to #content_wrap (925) width.As there are paddings u should count them also.And also reduce the #comment width.

In the Admin Panel/Appearance/Widgets there will be side bar widgets.
If u expand it u can find text widgets,ads etc.
I think u can find your code in that.
